I wanted to create a Valentine card and realized that I didn’t order the Sending Love Bundle – basically the Valentine themed set in our Occasions catalog. I did order the Sending Love Designer Series paper stack though – so I had that to work with for Valentine’s. As I looked through the catalog for an alternate stamp set to use I realized the Lift Me Up Bundle had several elements I could use to create a Valentine card – a heart that said Love, a heart die and the words Love is in the air – PERFECT! So I got to work creating this cute card.
I used the Falling Petals Embossing folder on a piece of Pool Party card stock. I chose one of the prints from the Sending Love Designer Paper stack for my hot air balloon. I did cut a second little piece of the hot air balloon in Early Espresso and trim it to make the basket. Then tied a piece of Whisper White bakers twine around it. Die cut a red heart to add to the balloon. Add the white clouds and the Love is in the air sentiment and it turned into quite the cute Valentine Card.
I added a simple white layer stamped with the little heart on the inside.
Thanks for stopping in today!
Don’t forget Sale-A-Bration is going right now – every $50 order earns a free Sale-A-Bration item!
Now that the new year has come and gone it’s time to work on Valentine’s Day – it will be here before we know. We are almost half way through January already! Where in the world does the time go. I had high hopes of getting so many things done over the holidays and it really just didn’t happen. Sigh.
At the end of December I had my monthly Card Maker’s class and created this Valentine’s card as one of the selections.
I used a couple of new products from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog.
The Sending Love Designer Paper Stack – which is a fun 6×6 sized stack of red and while designs. There are 8 double-sided designs in the stack.
I also used a new stamp set called Falling for You. It’s part of the Falling in Love Suite which has products that are romantic and shabby chic. Think marriage, wedding, love.
The heart is from the Sweet & Sassy Framelits die set. I wonder why they gave that one a different name instead of just calling it layering hearts like they did the circles, squares, and ovals. Even the stars are just called stars. I want to call it layering hearts.
The Baker’s Twine is actually from the Holiday Catalog – I wish they had kept that little pack as it was perfect for Valentine’s projects this time of year.
It’s time to get carried away with all the cute items in the Sale-A-Bration catalog. And one of those is the Carried Away Designer Series Paper!
It coordinates perfectly with the Life Me Up Bundle in the Occasions Catalog. I used those plus the Designer Tee Stamp set in the Sale-A-Bration brochure to make this fun swap card.
I stamped the little clouds from the Lift Me Up stamp set on the Watermelon Wonder card base.
Next I added a piece of the Carried Away Designer Paper.
I stamped Happy Birthday from the Designer Tee stamp set in Night of Navy on a strip of Whisper White card stock and added that across the front.
Tied a piece of Night of Navy Baker’s Twine around the front of my card.
Die cut the large hot air balloon from the Up & Away Thinlits dies from Night of Navy card stock and used little bits of dimensionals to add that to the front.
This is what it looked like with all my pieces as I was making a stack of these.
I love how it turned out. You can order the Lift Me Up Bundle and save 10% (the wood bundle is over $50 or add a little to the clear bundle) and get the Carried Away Designer Paper for Free during Sale-A-Bration. Shop Now in my Online Store here.
Our snow and ice has finally melted (mostly) and everything should be returning back to normal now. The schools around here have been closed the past two days because travel was hazardous around here – think ice!
Hey, Chick – did you hear that Sale-a-Bration has started?
Which came first the Chicken or the egg? In my case I think it was the egg – the Occasions catalog has some fun new mini egg cartons which I have here in my craft room. Now I just need time to play with them. Then there is the Hey, Chick stamp set. I keep thinking I ordered it but then I can’t find it. So I finally sat down and went through my orders yesterday and Yes I really did order it (demos get to pre-order in December). And then I had to go on a hunt to find it – it was like hunting for eggs – ha ha! Finally I found it!
This fun stamp set is one of the FREE items you can choose during Sale-A-Bration. Spend $50 in product and select this as your freebie.
Read what our illustrator, Lori Sume, has to say about her inspiration for the Hey, Chick stamp set:
When I was a child growing up in Canada, I remember some family friends who had little chickens that I thought were so cute. A couple of summers ago here in Utah, I stopped at a friend’s ranch and saw all their cute animals including their chickens. They had typical chickens but also another kind called Polish Frizzle Bantam White Chickens. I think they are so funny with all those feathers flopping around on the top of their heads and how they like to stare straight at you and cock their heads.
So when I was assigned to create the Hey, Chick Stamp Set, I was so excited. I wanted to exaggerate the rounder chickens and really make them round, and I also really wanted to draw one of those funny chickens I saw at my friend’s ranch. It was a really fun set to create.

Stay warm this weekend – we have snow headed our way – which doesn’t happen very often. It was sleeting earlier and the temps are dropping.
You can now order from the brand new 2017 Occasions Catalog! It’s just a little weird writing 2017 – I’ll have to get used to that. Another year flew by and this one is off to a rocky start. First the weather here has been less than stellar – rain, rain, cold, more rain, and now wintery mix of weather headed our way. And I have a cold so I don’t feel like doing much at all. And today – the start of this new Catalog and our best promotion of the year – Sale-A-Bration the Stampin’ Up! home office had a MAJOR system crash. Yep everything was down for probably a solid 12 hours. But it’s up now so you can order and earn free products!
Occasions catalogs went out in the mail in December (if you are local you can also pick up here at my next class) and I mailed out Sale-A-Bration catalogs on Tuesday. If you don’t receive your copy – please let me know. If you are new to Stampin’ Up! and need a demonstrator – I’d love to be yours!
Here is a little video sneak peek of the Occasions catalog
There is a lot of fun stuff inside for all your upcoming spring occasions!
Today Dec. 1st – Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators get the opportunity to pre-order from the upcoming Occasions Catalog. Brand new products coming January 4th. I had the opportunity to work with a few products and create samples for the display boards at the OnStage Local even in Atlanta in early November. I worked with products from the Falling in Love Suite. I wanted to share a few of those with you today.
First – a Curvy Keepsake box – a sweet way to celebrate a special day – like a wedding or bridal shower. New Falling in Love Designer Paper and Embellisments, and the So In Love Bundle that includes a stamp set and Thinlits die set.
Next a Petite Cafe Bag – a food safe bag ready to add some yummy treats – decorated with some exciting new products. I used the same paper, stamp set, die and embellishments on this one
And one more for today – this is the popcorn box die but I shortened it to make a shorter box. I used the So Detailed Thinlits Dies again on this one and some new Very Vanilla ribbon.
