So this week’s UDI Color Challenge just screamed Halloween and Candy Corn to me!

Here is the inspiration picture:

Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White is all candy corn!  And the I had to add black.  So I am thinking about what to make and that everyone is thinking candy corn or at least Halloween.  So do I want to make something else – thinking, thinking, and I just can’t get the candy corn out of my head.  So I went ahead with my idea and here is what I ended up with:

Yep it is a giant candy corn on a piece of Basic Black card stock for the card base.  I started by cutting a piece of Daffodil Delight Patterns Designer Series Paper with the Big Shot and the Perfect Pennants die.  And also a piece of Pumpkin Pie Patterns Designer Series paper and a piece of Whisper White card stock.

For the Pumpkin Pie piece I cut off 1″ from the bottom and 1-1/2″ from the top.  For the White piece I kept the 1-1/2″ at the top.  I glued the Pumpkin and white pieces onto the Daffodil Delight piece so they matched up in the right spot.  Now I used my Corner Rounder Punch to round the corners of my candy corn.

I tied a piece of Whisper White Taffeta ribbon around the center of the candy corn – I really wanted to use Pumpkin Pie but that ribbon retired with the last catalog.  I added a little BOO tag from the Tiny Tags stamp set to the ribbon.  And then attached the Candy Corn to the front of the card.

Because the inside needed a panel for writing I decided to dress it up a little too. I added strips of the Designer Paper and the Happy Halloween greeting from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.
