The New Classroom is Ready

I think its been well over a year since we decided to turn the old office in our house into a Stamping Classroom.  It’s a slow process when you do it yourself and your husband has a full time job, wants to play golf every weekend, and decides to redo the basement and get a hip replacement too.  But now finally it is done!

I tried to find a photo when we still had furniture and stuff in there but didn’t come across one yet.  Maybe I’ll find it another time.  But to give you an idea this was the room before – just empty.

before-1

It was the old office and had a big desk in it at one point.  When I worked full time I used that as my home office on the days I stayed home. The built in cabinets were a project that Greg and his dad did when we first moved into the house (over 20 years ago).  It was Greg’s first real building project.  His dad taught him well.

before-2

The cabinets came down and we found this smiley face behind them – and a lot of holes in the wall.  We totally forgot the smiley was back there.  Our boys were very little when those were put up.  Greg painted that and they all “helped” build the room.

before-3

Everything is down.  Now it took some time to patch up all the holes, paint all the walls and the ceiling, remove the carpet, add the tile floor, fix all the trim, etc.

And this is what it turned into….

after-1

The walls are painted So Saffron.  We added a tile floor in a herring bone pattern.  The white tables and chairs are from Ikea and so are the gray carts and the white dresser.  The revolving bookcase is from Pottery Barn.

after-2

Here I have the room set up for my Stamper’s Club.  They were the first ones to see and use the room.  Each cart has catalogs, order forms, and pens in the bottom.  Some tools in the center – cleaner, pop up trashcan, stamping pad, I also added bins with clear blocks.  The top has the supplies for the project at that table.

after-3

This past weekend I had my team meeting in here.  We talked business and then stamped.  A few of the girls stayed for a few hours in the afternoon and we worked on some kits and paper pumpkin boxes.  Aspen likes to be right in the middle of everything.

9 More Days of Sale-A-Bration

Can you believe it is almost the end of March?  There are only 9 more days left after today.  March and Sale-A-Bration are coming to a quick end.  Today’s project features two items from the Sale-A-Bration brochure – Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper and the Botanicals for You stamp set.

It’s an adorable box filled with a set of cards.  This will be one of the projects for my April Botanical Gardens class.

The Botanical Builder Framelits Dies are part of the Botanical Gardens bundle.  For this project I used the Wildflower Fields Designer paper for this project instead of the Botanical Gardens Designer paper.  The colors are Calypso Coral, Lost Lagoon and Blackberry Bliss.  I love how it turned out.  And the little Botanical Garden Jewels are the cutest little things to add just a little bling to a project.

The Botanical Gardens Bundle is priced at $51.75 and earns you a free Sale-A-Bration item – the Botanicals for You stamp set would be perfect.  But that ends on March 31st so hurry!

Hello Life Decor Project Kit

What are your thoughts on the kits in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog?

Well my favorite one is the Hello Life Decor Kit!  That’s the first one I bought and I am going to have a class on March 22nd for anyone that wants to get together to make theirs.  Here are some photos of mine –

hello-life-kitI even had some black & white photos of my three boys that I could use!  I love how it turned out and I plan to hang it in my new stamping classroom when it is finished – the colors in that room will be Gray, Yellow, White.  – Yellow on the walls, white furniture and probably will do gray tiles on the floor.  Final decisions haven’t been made yet but that is what I’m thinking right now.

hello-life-kit1Kyle (my oldest – photo on the left) recently took a business trip to Brazil & Argentina.  He is back at his home now in San Francisco.  I was able to talk to him last night.  Maybe I’m the only one but as a mom I was nervous for his traveling out of the country – it was his first time to leave the US.   Ryan (my youngest – photo in the center) is away at college in Indiana.  I got to talk to him yesterday too.  He will be traveling soon to visit Kyle for his spring break and then stop here at home in Georgia before heading back to finish the semester.  Tyler (the middle – photo on the right) is here at home so I get to talk/see him just about every day.  He is finishing college and working right now at his first internship job.  I was a happy mom last night after talking to all three of them on the same day!

hello-life-kit2Here is a look at the Pom-pom and heart banner that is on the frame.  I figured out the trick with the pom-poms – they take some time but I actually am very happy with the final result.  I used a fine tooth comb – to carefully comb out all the strands of yarn.

hello-life-kit3The panel that says LOVE THIS LIFE can be changed to say what you want.  The kit comes with a set of adhesive letters so its’ your choice on what you want to put on there.  The kit also has extra’s of most of the pieces in the kit – you can add more to your frame or use the left overs for a scrapbook layout or cards.

Join me on Sunday, March 22nd for a class to create this Home Decor Kit.  This is a pre-paid class – RSVP and payment due by March 12th so I can order all the supplies for you.  Grab a friend and sign up today!  Class Fee is $32.
If you are a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator or you have already purchased the kit you can join us too – the reduced class fee is $7 (pay at the class) – you will have to bring your kit with you to the class.

RSVP for the class here – after I receive your RSVP I will send you a Paypal invoice.

Plan to bring Fast Fuse or Multipurpose Glue adhesive, your paper snips, and a bone folder.  You can also bring some photos or add those later at home.

If you have questions let me know.
