Make & Takes from the Birmingham Regional

I don’t think I ever shared the cards we made at the Birmingham Regional.  So here they are today.  They use the stamp set You Are Loved from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  It’s way in the back of the mini and is more suited to Valentine’s Day so you may over look it back there – but it would be pretty for many other things.  We also used the Distressing Kit with it and I really like how they turned out – gives it an aged look.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

UDI Color Challenge #62

Hi all – I hope you are having a productive week leading up to Thanksgiving – is everything ready?  Do you have the turkey, the ham?  We have both.  I have more little turkey milk cartons to make – one for each of the kids although the kids are really kids any more they are becoming adults.  Yesterday was Kyle’s 20th birthday!  I can’t believe I have a 20 year old!  Where did the time go?  Since I needed a card for Kyle for his birthday I used this weeks color challenge for his card.   Here is the inspiration picture –

I thought these colors were good for a masculine card even though the inspiration photo isn’t.  I am working on another project that uses the Peek-a-Boo die for the Big Shot so I had that on my craft table and decided to play with it for this card too.  After playing around with it quite a bit I finally came up with this –

This is the front – I made owls using the owl punch and set them on each of the peek-a-boo windows – each one says “got birthday?” – and when you open the windows you get –

one cupcake and then two cupcakes with candles –

And then on the inside of the card – it’s better than the outside –

This time the peek-a-boo window reveals the best part of the birthday –

The gift card (or cash) – I created a pocket under the window – used the word window punch to make the opening for the gift card – or fold up some case and slide it in there.  So that is the card that Kyle got for his birthday.

Thanksgiving Turkey Mini Milk Carton

I have another Mini Milk Carton creation for you.  This will be cute on your Thanksgiving Table – fill with some treats for all the kids.

I made this using the Big Shot – the Mini Milk carton die and Scallop Circle die.  Some punches add details and he is done.  I wrote a tutorial with pictures of each step – CLICK HERE.  I am very thankful for all of my Stampin’ Friends and appreciate the comments you leave and encouragement you give to me.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Have fun this weekend getting ready for your Thanksgiving gathering.

Spice Cake Fabric Bears

Well I am away from my blog for a day or so and things have changed.  I guess everything changes all the time and while I would like to say can you me some warning – the truth is they probably did and I didn’t pay attention to it.  The first thing I noticed was a change in adding my pictures to my blog post.  I wonder what else has changed – I guess I’ll find it as a I find it.

And now for the cutest little bears ever…..these are the teeniest little fabric bears.

I saw these on Patty Bennett’s blog – you can see her post and the instructions HERE.  I wanted a fabric project for my last downline meeting and when I Patty shared these I knew they would perfect.  These are teeny tiny little bears and we used the Spice Cake fabric to make the.  This is a Big Shot project – using the Scallop Circle dies – the large, medium and small scallop circles were all used.

I got a picture of the three different fabrics in the Spice Cake assortment – I made one and the others were made by some of the girls at my downline meeting.  These were assembled using hot glue but they are tiny enough that I think hand sewing them together would have been almost just as easy.  I may try to make another one and just stitch the pieces together.

I am trying to finish up a tutorial for my Thanksgiving Turkey box so if you are looking for an idea for next week hold one for another day or so and I’ll have it out here for you.

Have a nice fall day!  We had storms yesterday with tornado sirens (no tornado though) and the power kept going off (didn’t stay off long) and we have lots of wind today so there are leaves everywhere – falling leaves is why we call it fall.
