My Digital Studio – Storytime Template

For those of you that like designing with My Digital Studio – you need to take a look on page 198-199 in the new catalog at the Collection DVDs.  There are 6 to choose from and they all have a collection of stamp brush sets and designer papers plus designer templates.  I ordered the Storytime Collection DVD and used one of the designer template pages from it to create this page.

I did make changes to it but starting with a template makes things quicker because all the elements, photos and journaling spots are laid out.  I added my photo and then started making changes.  Maybe I should show you the original template so you can see where things changed.

So first I had to remove the little strips on the left since they covered up Warren in the picture.  And then i moved the curly label punch to the other side since I had more space over there to “hang” something.  I decided to replace the papers with some different ones since this wasn’t a school page – but they are still from the Storytime collection of papers.  I changed the title and removed the zero.  I also decided to use embellishments instead of stamps to add a couple of accents since they were colored in – and I love the little owl and the birds that are in the collection so that is what I decided to use.  I think I may go back and add everyone’s name but for now I’ll just keep it the way it is for now.  This picture was from 2 years ago when we took a trip to North Carolina – we went out to the town of Blowing Rock to eat lunch and walk around.

I’m still working on my 55 $55 orders – I’ll be making phone calls and sending some more emails next week.  If you need something please let me know.  Here is the post if you want to see what I’m talking about – and there is a thermometer for completed orders on the side of my blog.  I do have some more that are coming but I have a long way to go still.

Oh I almost forgot – yesterday was Tuesday so Stampin’ Up! released some new digital downloads – I still need to go check them out.

Have a great day!

Made with Love

Hi all – I’m coming along steadily with my goal of 55  $55 orders by June 30th.  I have the little thermometer on my sidebar if you want to watch it rise each day.  Thank you SO MUCH to everyone that has already placed and order and to those that are planning to place orders in the coming days.  I’m getting more excited with every email and order that comes in!

Here is a quick post for you today – another scrapbook layout that I made last month – this one was based on a layout in the last catalog – I think the picture in the catalog was an 8-1/2 x 11 layout and I modified it to be a 2-page 12×12 layout.

The Designer paper is now retired but you could use whatever paper that you have and create this same layout.  I just cut it into pieces most are 3×3 and a few are 3×2.  The background is Basic Gray and then the designer paper is attached to Crumb Cake.  I added Pool Party accents on either side.  The title is also in Crumb Cake so it is very subtle.  I popped up the heart with Dimensionals.  Some other options would be to make the title in one of the other colors or pop it up off the page, even just sponging the edges or outlining them would make the title stand out more.  I did distress the top and bottom edge of all the Designer Paper pieces using the Distress Tool – which also retired – darn it.  But you can use your paper snips and get a similar effect or even your finger nail (maybe not if you just had a manicure – that would get messed up).

I’m anxiously awaiting a call from Stampin’ Up! this week too – I submitted for the Artisan Design Team and they are supposed to be calling all the finalists this week – I hope I receive a call.  I wonder how many submissions they received?

Talk to you later…

Spring Scrapbook with Tree of Friendship

I know – I forgot to post this before May ended – the month just went by so fast.  I can’t believe it is June already and the new catalog has started. Hopefully you already have the Season of Friendship stamp set since it is now retired.

The tree trunk was stamped on Whisper White card stock and then I stamped leaves all over it until I had a tree as full as I wanted.  Then I cut it out to put it on the layout.  I Designer Paper is the Big Top Birthday paper from the last catalog.  It had the perfect page with the banners and clouds and sunrays on it.  To make the Kite I found a coloring book kite that I traced and cut out of the designer paper, then punched the ribbon border punch and lined the sides, add some bakers’ twine for the string and the skinny taffeta ribbon for the tail.

I get many of my scrapbook ideas from magazines or the internet but I find that many are only single page layouts so I am always converting and stretching and adding a second page to mine.  This was one of my class pages during the last couple of months.

I hope you like it.  It just needs some pictures added to it now.

My 55 goal is slowly coming along – I talked to a couple more people today who plan to place orders soon.   As the orders get placed I’ll update the tracker on the side of my blog.  I hope to see it growing each day.  And then we can all celebrate at a Stampin’ Up! party in the fall.  If you don’t know what I’m talking about then check this post.  I’m so exited at the possibility of actually earning a Stampin’ Up! incentive trip.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Summer Starfruit

Thanks for hearing my plea!  I wanted to update you that I have 2 of my 55 orders and 3 more people that said they would be placing orders in the coming days.   I’ll keep you updated and if you’d like to help me out that would be so greatly appreciated!

Summer Starfruit is one of the new Stampin’ Up! In-Colors.  And I’ve featured it on this card –

I think it is such a different color not like anything we already have in our color families.  I used the Comfort Cafe Designer Series paper on this card so that helped decide the rest of the colors – Soft Suede, Midnight Muse, Pool Party and Very Vanilla.  The card “sketch” was one I saw recently on another blog.  The stamp sets I used are Betsy’s Blossom – that’s the bird, and Itty Bitty Banners with the new Itty Bitty Framelits.  I’m going to have to look up all these names – I know they are close but I haven’t learned the names for all the new things yet.

Thanks so much – have a good day!

Please Help Me – Yeah I have what I need!

 Thank you for your Help!

Update 6/29 – I have one final order to put in today and I will be there.  I can’t believe we are getting this done!  This is amazing!  You are all amazing!  I have the best customers, friends and demonstrator sisters – this company is just amazing and just the best people.  I’m doing the Happy Dance!

I have been working hard all year long to try to earn my first ever Incentive Trip from Stampin’ Up!  and I am almost there!!  But I REALLY need everyone’s help – I checked my points this morning and I’m a little over 3000 points away – yikes!  I hate to be so close and not get it.  So I’m sending out one more plea to everyone on my list.  The deadline is June 30 – so only 24  2 more days to go!

If I can get 55 people to place a $55 product order I’ll be able to get there.  So here is what I’m going to do once I earn the trip – all 55 people that place at least a $55 order will get a pass to a free Card Maker’s Club class – and if you don’t live close enough to come to class I’ll send you a class by mail instead.  If you place a $100 or more order you’ll get the pass to the free class and I will pay your shipping on your order.  Plus I’ll have a Stampin’ party in the fall for everyone that places an order no matter what size.

I’ll try to keep updates on my blog posts – right now I have 1 order – so 54 more to go.

You can look online in my store – you can even order online if you like – if you earn free shipping from me I will reimburse you.  You can email me an order or call me on my cell phone.

The new catalog is available as a “flipping book” on my blog – in the sidebar.  Or as a pdf (but it’s a big file).  I also have catalogs here at my house if you don’t have one.

Thank you in advance to everyone that helps me earn this trip.  Thank you to everyone for supporting my Stampin’ Up! Business!

  Happy Stamping!

Your Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator
