Well it works out well that I have a Tell Me Tuesday post because Stampin’ Up! has decided to do the same thing. They are telling us each Tuesday all the things that are coming up – even though some may not start on that day. So I think it will work out to be perfect timing. Normally I’ll try my best to post much earlier in the day – today has been busy – I went out this morning to the post office – mailed team awards for the STARZ team and also two boxes of cards to FROM OUR HEARTS. I had so much it took me about an hour – I think she suspended me atleast 3 times so we could let other people cut in to do their business. I go to the small postal outlet in downtown Woodstock so there is just one person working there. After that I ran to the grocery store and then home to wait on the window cleaners. We are getting all the windows cleaned inside and outside plus the chandelier in the foyer. Anyway since they have been here and working inside I have been keeping tabs on them and the dogs and haven’t had a chance to sit down at my computer until just now.

Two Thank You cards to show you today….
Cindy Schuster brought these as Make&Takes for my last PAWS team meeting. Everyone got to make one of each. The cards have the same layout and the same stamps but a different look because of the colors and embellishments. One has a Fall feel and the other more of a Spring feel.
So if you have a card that you like try changing up the colors to give it a new look.

When I first saw the Square Framelits Collection in the new Stampin’ Up! catalog all I could think of was that large Scallop Square and that it was going to be an easy way to make scallop squares and rectangles in many sizes. And now it’s 6 months (or more) later and I never even tested my theory – until last night. Good news – I was right!
First cut the full scallop square using the die and the Big Shot. Then position the die on the cut piece to create the size square or rectangle that you want – just use the scallops as your guide to lining up the die. And if you have the magnetic platform it will stay in place once you get it in position.
Look at this….
This first picture you can see that I just slid the framelit die over to make a rectangle. Add the top cutting plate and cut it a second time and you have a scallop rectangle.
Here is another one
For this one I moved it in both directions – still creating a rectangle – since I didn’t move the same number of scallops going across as I did up.
And here is a square –
To get a square you have to move the die the same number of scallops in both directions – in this photo I moved over 4 scallops in each direction. And then cut it again. Here is the result.
A smaller scallop square! Just think layers of scallop squares – you can just keep going smaller and smaller.

Now I need to come up with a card or project using this idea.

I have a great Masculine Birthday card for you today! It seems that everyone struggles making cards for guys. I have a lot of guys in my family – a husband and 3 sons, a brother, my father, 2 brother in-laws and 2 nephews. That’s 10 compared to 6 girls. anyway…..
I think part of making it masculine has to do with the colors you choose. For this card I used Soft Suede and Summer Starfruit along with the Naturals White card stock.
The background technique is a fun one – I used a brayer to add Soft Suede ink to the top side of the Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder – insert a piece of the Naturals White card stock and then run it through the Big Shot. It embosses the card stock and adds the ink into the recessed areas.
Here are all the elements of the card:
- Soft Suede card base
- the Modern Mosaic embossed layer
- a piece of Summer Starfruit ribbon
- Soft Suede card stock cut with the Deco Labels Framelit
- Naturals White card stock – stamp with Morning Post Numbers stamp set and cut with the Deco Labels Framelit
- Summer Starfruit card stock – stamp with Label Love and punch out with the Artisan Label punch
One more thing you could add which isn’t in this photo but was on one of the cards that I made was the addition of 2 Soft Suede candy dots on either side of the label frame.

With Thanksgiving creeping up on us later this month it is always a time to thank those around us. Thank you for visiting my blog and supporting my Stampin’ Up! business! I want to share this fun Thank You card today using the Circle Card Thinlits die.
One of my favorite thing to do right now is to use the strips of the cut Cotton Ribbon – I love the natural look that the fraying adds. Here are some notes on how I made this card:
- I used Chocolate Chip card stock – cut to the size of the die (its in the instructions that come with the die) – I think it was 5-1/2″ x 6″
- Cut a piece of Sweater Weather Designer paper and glue to the right side of the card. If you add the paper before you cut the card then the edge of the circle will cut out of the paper at the same time and in the right place.
- Then line up the card stock in the die and cut it with the Big Shot – I use the Magnetic Platform for this die.
- I used Gorgeous Grunge to add some interest to the front panel.
- Tie the cotton ribbon strip around the edge of the card through the cut circle – I just tied it in a knot.
- I used the 2-1/2″ Circle punch for two Sahara Sand Circles that will go on either side of the flipping circle.
- Ink the Magnificent Maple leaf with Tangerine Tango ink and then roll the edges in Chocolate Chip ink (called the Rock & Roll technique). NOTE THIS – I do have a tip for you here – the old style ink pads work much better for this technique. The new ink pad brings too much ink to the edges of the stamp and there isn’t a soft change in color. If you only have the new ink pads I would suggest using a sponge to add the darker color around the edge of the stamp.
- I added some dots from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp to the leaves and also rolled the edge of the circle in the Chocolate Chip ink.
- Stamp the Thank You (from Sassy Salutations) on the designer paper using the Chocolate Chip ink.
