Here are a couple of cards that I made with this bundle

Stampin’ Up! Carols of Christmas, Holiday Catalog 2017, Monika Davis

For this card I used Be Merry Designer Series Paper in the Annual Catalog, Thick Whisper White card stock and Vellum card stock.  I stamped with the Archival Black ink on the Vellum which needs some time to dry.  You can also use this idea and instead of the Designer Paper under the vellum use a family photo.

Sneak Peek – A Merry Little Christmas

The new Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog is coming September 1st!  A perk of being a demonstrator means we get to see it early and purchase products early.  I’d love to talk to you about being a demonstrator and part of my team.  Today on my blog I’m sharing a sneak peek from the Merry Little Christmas Suite.  It’s actually a mega suite.  It has 2 stamp set bundles – one with a punch and one with a die set, two Designer Series Paper packs, and lots of fun embellishments in one big suite of coordinating products.  Here is just a little peek for you.

  • Everyday Label Punch

Here is another view so you can see the yummies inside!

Sneak Peek of Painted Harvest

One of the perks from the Stampin’ Up! Incentive trip to Thailand was that we were the first to see the upcoming Holiday Catalog, get some of the products and create with them too.  One of my top favorites in this new catalog is a stamp set called Painted Harvest.  It’s part of a suite of products with a bold, water-colored look and beautiful fall images. The coordinating designer paper pack – Painted Autumn – includes hand painted designs from one of the Stampin’ Up! artists.

While in Thailand we were able to make some cards using this bundle and once I returned home I used it to create a little box for me Demo Getaway attendees last weekend.  So I wanted to share those with you today.

I created this box and sized it to fit a roll of the 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon.  This ribbon is in the Annual Catalog but is also featured in the Holiday catalog as part of this Painted Autumn suite.  I used the new Painted Harvest stamp set to stamp the front panel and the tag.  I thought the words were perfect as I wanted all the girls that came to my weekend Demo Getaway event to know how thankful I was for them.

To make the box cut a piece of Crumb Cake card stock 8″ x 5-1/2″.  Then score the short side at 1″ and 4-1/2″.  Score the long side at 3-1/2″ and 4-1/2″.  Fold on all the lines, snip the outside lines to create tabs, fold in the tabs and adhere the sides with some Tear & Tape.  Then I used a piece of Very Vanilla that’s 3-1/4″ square and stamped my design on it – I used Crushed Curry, Early Espresso, and Garden Green ink.  The tag is actually cut using the Leaflets Framelits in the annual catalog.  I used Crushed Curry Solid Baker’s Twine to tie around the box and hold the leaf tag.

Here are the cards that we made when we were in Thailand – in addition to the stamp set we used the Painted Autumn Designer Paper and the Leaf Punch.

I hope you like these samples and the peek at the new Painted Autumn Suite.  You’ll be able to order these beginning September 1st.  Holiday catalogs will be going out later this month and if you need one and don’t already have a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator let me know and I’ll add you to my list.

Thanks for stopping by!

Thailand Pillow Gifts

One of the really exciting special parts of the Stampin’ Up! Incentive trip are what’s called the Pillow Gifts!  Every evening during the trip the little elves come into your room and leave a surprise on your pillow – well on the bed really.  It’s super fun to come back from dinner each evening and see what we got.  Many of the gifts in Thailand included brand new products from the upcoming Holiday Catalog.  We had to wait a little while before we could show those to you but now I can.

We had a welcome gift to begin with – the personalized sign on our door and an exotic fruit basket when we arrived.  I get pretty excited about personalized stuff because I normally can’t find anything with my name spelled correctly.

The fruit basket luckily came with a guide so we would know what was in there!  We had mango, rambutan, mangosteen, dragon fruit and banana’s.

Each night our pillow gifts came wrapped in a brown bag and tied with our Gold Edged Metallic ribbon and a tag with some of the Eastern Palace Tassels.

Each tag had a fact on the back about Thailand.

  • In Thailand, people do not shake hands when they greet one another; instead, they “wai” or press their palms together and bow the head slightly to show respect.  The wai is also used to say hello, thank you, and goodbye.
  • The orchid is Thailand’s national flower, and 1,500 species of orchid grow wild in Thailand’s tropical forests.  Thailand is also one of the world’s largest orchid exporters.
  • Spicy Thai food has been heavily influenced by Chinese and Indian cuisine; common dishes include such flavorings as coconut milk, peanuts, basil, ginger, lemongrass, and hot chilies.
  • The Siamese cat is native to Thailand and is called “wichen-maat,” which means “moon diamond.”  Giving a pair of Siamese cats to a bride as a wedding gift is thought to bring good luck.
  • Thailand’s national animal is the elephant and is considered lucky.  If a white elephant is found, it is automatically considered the exclusive property of the King of Thailand.
  • The Thai phrase “Mai pen rai” is thought to perfectly represent the Thai way of life; it means “No worries.” In other words, don’t take life too seriously, and be sure to find “sanuk” or fun in whatever you do.

Many of our gifts were new Holiday Catalog product.  Here is a look at what we received.

We also received gifts that weren’t product including a waterproof phone case and the Phang Nga Bay group activity – an all day excursion I’ll share about in its own post.  Plus an overnight travel bag and a hand painted jar in a box.

These were all the things we received as pillow gifts but that was not all!  There was more – General Session with Prize Patrols, and the Hospitality Room with a new game everyday.  I’ll share those in a different post.

We were definitely showered by Stampin’ Up!  So on top of all the things we experienced they made it extra special with all the extra little touches and the many gifts we were given.

Thanks for visiting today!
