And here are some of the stamping related items – I used the Summer Cookout Kit some more for the party – all the utensils were wrapped with the napkins and then I cut 2″ strips of the gingham tissue paper and wrapped those around it.  I stamped tags using the star image from one of the hostess set from last year – punched with a 1″ punch then added a Night of Navy 1-1/4″ circle behind each one.  Punched a 1/8″ hole to tie it around using some white crochet thread.

utensils I also made a small banner at the last minute – it’s not the greatest thing in the world – I really wish I had the big die cut letters to use in my Big Shot but I don’t have those so I stamped using the largest alphabet set that I had – a retired Headline Alphabet.  These were also pieces from the Cookout Kit – the coasters and the tent cards cut in half.  I added navy eylets to hold it all together.  The Happy Birthday letters are the GoGo Boots Alphabet Sizzlets die – these I made like my scrapbook page – glue the tissue paper to card stock and then cut out with the Big Shot.banner This was very much a last minute project and I really wanted something bigger.

On Friday night was when we actually gave Tyler his card and present from us.  What do you give teenagers?  The answer money and food.  In our house usually what ever it is that you want to eat is already gone – three teenage boys I don’t ever seem to have what they want in the house.

So the card I gave Tyler was one that we made at the Leadership conference using the chipboard owl from the So Tweet Chipboard.  The paper is from Good Morning Sunshine Designer Series paper – which is retired – it had good boy colors in it.  I added the Happy Birthday which is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and punched with the Small Oval punch.  Then layered with two of the tags that are on the Matchbox Die.

birthday-owlSince we gave Tyler some money I wanted to give it to him in a creative way – something more than sticking it in the card.  So I came up with this – I created a chest of drawers using the Matchbox Die.  I cut six Matchboxes out and assembled each one – I used Chocolate Chip card stock – see this post here on how to get two matchboxes from one sheet of 12×12 card stock.  After each one was assembled I used sticky strip to attach three on top of each other and then to attach the two stacks together.  On each drawer I added the small Chocolate Chip Corduroy brad as a handle.  Then I wrapped the whole thing with a piece of Designer Series Paper.  On the top I decorated two of the pears from the So Tweet Chipboard and added those with Crystal Effects.   Tyler likes pears and I thought it was more masculine than the bird.  chest

Each drawer had a bill (or two) inside.  And now it is on his night stand and he can put change or whatever inside.  The bills he got for his birthday are on their way to the bank.

So those were my little stamping projects for Tyler.  I hope you liked them.

Have a great day!
