May 25, 2014 | Stamp, Scrap, & Create Retreat |
Friday was Day 2 our our Stamp, Scrap & Create Retreat. During the day those that were here worked on their own projects. I added this extra day so that everyone had more time to get their personal projects done. Some people had other commitments – work, doctor appointments or school commitments. For those that were here we headed out to lunch and a couple of people met us there too. Then back to the house.
The official start was dinner on Friday night once everyone arrived. I tried to keep the meals with minimal prep work so we had Rotisserie Chicken, Salad and Mashtini’s (mashed potato’s served in martini glasses with toppings).

After dinner we had our first session of Make&Takes and then a fire in the fire pit with S’mores. Some late night stamping and crafting and lots of fun to finish the day.

Friday night I left another surprise for everyone at their work space while they were eating dinner.

May 23, 2014 | In Colors, Paper Pumpkin, Stamp, Scrap, & Create Retreat |
Hi all! I wanted to share with you all the fun we had at the Stamp, Scrap & Create Retreat! It was an awesome weekend of crafting, stamping, scrapbooking, eating, girl time and Friendship! This time I decided to start the retreat on Thursday evening to give everyone some extra crafting time on their personal projects if they wanted it. On the agenda for Thursday night was happy hour, setting up your craft station and a fire in the firepit with smores. Well it rained on Thursday and was too wet for us to have the fire so that got moved to Friday night.
Before everyone arrived it was a cleaning frenzy! Plus final set up of all the tables, chairs and goody bags along with a welcome gift for everyone.

Look at this cute little bag! And a sneak peek at some new products too! These are the brand new In-Colors for 2014-2015 shown in a brand new style of ribbon! The ribbon is hotglued around a muslin bag – I pulled out the cord. Cindy made a similar bag for one of her Artisan projects last month.
Here is a closer look at the tag –
The center of the flower is one of the pieces from the February 2014 Paper Pumpkin Kit – In the Bag. You’ll see this kit used in a variety of projects from the retreat. If you are a current Paper Pumpkin subscriber you can order refills of this kit or the full kit. And if you aren’t a subscriber yet – sign up today and enter the code SHELLIDEAL to start your June subscription at 50% off!!
The flower is punched from the new Blackberry Bliss card stock with the Pansy punch. Pin the flowers to the bag with a safety pin and add a little Linen Thread bow.
The new In-Colors and ribbons will be available in the new catalog that starts on June 2nd. I’m having a New Catalog Open House on June 1st – if you live near me come pick up a new catalog, make&takes using new products from the catalog, enjoy snacks and more plus have a chance to win a brand new stamp set too!

Do you want to know what I put inside the bags? There was a Post-It pad, a little pencil, a sheet of Stampin’ Dimensionals, a piece of a Stampin’ Sponge. And Sue brought everyone some chap stick which I stuck in there too.
And here are a couple of pictures that I took Thursday night – a few of us got started working on Thursday night.

After the Bluebird babies were born I decided with so many babies I better make sure there was lots of good food around for mom and dad to feed them. So I bought some meal worms and a new little feeder for them. I hung the feeder up in the tree near the bird house and tried to put out some worms in the morning and afternoon. A couple of days I also got out the camera to take some pictures. I thought it was funny that it seems the dad would pick up a worm or two while the mom would get as many as she could hold before going back to the house. It didn’t take them long to find the worms in the feeder. And they emptied the feeder pretty quickly grabbing worms taking them to the house and going back and getting more. Here are some photos for you.

I hope you enjoy the photos. I tried checking back inside the house on Tuesday but mom and dad stayed really close to the house and I couldn’t get a peek. And because there are so many babies inside its really crowded so I won’t be opening the house anymore – don’t want anyone to come out too early. It’s been 11 days now since they were born. They fledge after about 15-18 days – that would be the first part of next week. I’ll keep my eyes out. And I think I may go buy more meal worms tomorrow since the 500 that I had are all gone!

Just a quick post to show you a quick little card. The note cards & envelopes are great when you need something fast. Add a stamp and a greeting, bring in some punched elements and you are good to go.

The flowers are the Petite Petals stamp set and punch with an added little center using the Itty Bitty Shapes flower punch (its retiring and one of my favorites!). Here is a close up for you.
