Six Sayings – Thankful

For the last few catalogs Stampin’ Up! has been putting the exclusive hostess stamp sets in the back of the catalog.  I think sometimes they get overlooked back there.  The Holiday catalog has two sets that are exclusive to hostess or those earning Stampin’ Rewards.  Both sets have a collection of stamp image covering multiple occasions.  The one that I have to show you today is the Six Sayings stamp set.  It includes images for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year, and Valentines.  My card today is a fall thankful card.  It’s an idea I saw online and used for my stamp club to show a technique using the Woodland Embossing Folder.  It’s been one of the top sellers in our Holiday Catalog!

thankful-leaves ETo create the background with the embossing folder I used the Crumb Cake ink pad to add ink to the inside of the folder – the side with the logo writing on it.  Then I used a sponge dauber to remove any ink that got on the trees.  Next add the paper to the folder and run it through the Big Shot.  Then large THANKFUL is from the Six Sayings Hostess stamp set and is in a beautiful script font.  The leaves are from a set in the annual catalog – Vintage Leaves with Leaflits Framelits.

Holly Jolly Greetings

Did you notice the stamp set Holly Jolly Greetings on page 34 in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog?  It is turning out to be one of my favorites especially paired with the Christmas Greetings Thinlits dies.  Of course they are available as a bundle giving you a 15% savings – I love those bundles don’t you?

This is a quick and easy note card that I created using the bundle.

merry-glitter-splatter EIt’s a cute holiday note card with a fun technique that was shared at convention.  Use an empty container – like one that buttons come in and mix together some of the multi-purpose liquid glue and a bit of water.  Then use an Aqua painter to pick up the diluted glue and splatter it on the card front.  Sprinkle with glitter and then pour off any excess.  It creates this fun splatter glitter background.

Cute Fall Apples

It’s a rainy fall day here in Georgia – I had to put the dogs out in the rain this morning and they were not happy with me.  Apples are always something I think of in the fall and some nice baked apples sure would be good on this rainy day.  But what I’m sharing today is a cute apple themed project for you.  I got this idea from my dear friend Cindy Schuster – she is uber creative and I love her designs.  I decided to use this apple idea as one of the “pillow gift” projects at my fall retreat.

apple-box E

The apples are made with the Square Pillow Box die in the Holiday Catalog.  It is such a nice size for a fun container to add a sweet treat inside.  But rather than something sweet I filled them with a cute little notepad that I found at the store – I decorated them with some coordinating Into The Woods Designer Series Paper and Old Olive Baker’s Twine.

I hope you like this fun treat.  The girls at the retreat thought they were super cute.

Three more Halloween Projects

I’m running out of time to post Halloween Projects.  These are some that I have made over the past couple of months.

atb-spooky E

You might recognize this card since I copied the one out of the holiday catalog!  It’s the Among the Branches stamp set bundle with the Woodlands embossing folder.  Plus the spider web doily.

candy-wrapper E

This one probably looks familiar too – it’s also an idea from the Holiday catalog.  I did change it just a bit.  My wrap is around a Reese’s Peanut Butter Pumpkin.  And I used the witches hat rather than the skull.

And one more

mini-berry-boxThis idea came from Erica Cerwin and I basically made mine just like hers.  This is the Berry Box die but it is a half sized box!  It is so cute.  I filled a cello bag with chex mix and tied the top with some Washi Tape and Baker’s Twine.  They turned out super cute and I can’t wait to make some more for a different holiday.

Enjoy your Halloween weekend.  Be safe!  Make good choices (that’s what I tell my boys).
