As we near the end of the Stampin’ Up! Summer Mini catalog – another stamp set that is leaving us is the On The Grow set. I love the flowers in the jar and have used that image a lot but I also like the little scooter. This card idea came from a swap that I received at convention in 2010 – last year – one of my favorite swap cards was similar to this but used a different stamp set that I didn’t have. So when I saw this little scooter I knew it would work instead.
This is a long card – 3″ x 6″ and fits in the open-ended envelopes. I used Textured Soft Suede card stock for the base. On top is a layer of Soft Suede that has been embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper folder – before gluing it down add the scallop border trim – it is Daffodil Delight. There are some gel pen high-lights in between each of the scallops.
The scooter is stamped on Whisper White and then also on Poppy Parade Patterns Designer Series Paper. Cut out the main body of the scooter from the patterned paper and glue it on top of the image on the white card stock. Color the rest of the image with Stampin’ Write markers. The final touch was a Basic Rhinestone added for the scooter headlight. Everyone loved that part!
Little details always make cards fun.
Thanks for stopping in today.
I love the paper piecing and that headlight is just too stinkin’ cool!
I was wondering if you are going to be selling this stamp set, as it’s retired?
Would love to chat with you if you might want to sell it….
thanks!
