I was inspired by the little treat bag in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Mini catalog.  It is on page 5 – the little bag that uses the owl from the Warmest of Wishes Hostess stamp set.  If you have ever received a box from Stampin’ Up! you know that they fill the empty space with brown paper.  I end up with lots of brown paper and I like to come up with ideas to use it instead of throwing it away.  Last year I saved it and wrapped all of our Christmas gifts in it.  I am going to start saving it to do that again.  But for now this little treat bag inspired another idea.  I can make my own treat bags!

This was one of the projects from my class on Friday –

I took a piece of the brown paper from my last Stampin’ Up! order and cut a section out.  I folded it in half and put it on my Scallop Square die – making sure the fold was inside the cut line of the die – so you only cut three sides of the folded paper.  I ran it through the Big Shot die and ended up with a scallop square with one folded side.  I put snail adhesive on the two sides and left the top open.  I ran each side into the crimper a little bit and rolled it back out.

The front is decorated like the sample in the Holiday Mini catalog.  Punch a circle from Daffodil Delight.  Stamp the Owl on Whisper White using Early Espresso ink and punch out.  Stamp again on Pumpkin Pie card stock and cut out just the trick or treat bag – add this on top of the punched owl – I used  a little bit of Stampin’ Dimensional.  I added a strip of Lucky Limeade.  Stamp Happy Halloween (from Teeny Tiny Wishes) at the bottom.  Insert candy!

These were really quick and they are really cute!  And you don’t even have to buy any bags just make your own.

Have a nice day!
