This is a cute little treat holder project that I saw at Convention this year.  I don’t know who originally created it – someone swapped for it and let me take a picture.lion-nugget-holder If you happen to know who that is please leave me a comment so I can add the information here.

I created my version based on the photo that I had.  This would be project #3 from my Treat Class.  You can almost make the whole thing from scraps of card stock which is something I always like to use up.  I did cut a piece for the main holder.  It is just scored to fit the depth of a Hershey’s nugget candy.  I made one major change to my project because I wanted to create an all SU project and the one at convention used a pipe cleaner and pom-pom for the tail – I changed the tail.  I was really happy with the way my little tail turned out.

lion-nugget-holder-tail It is grosgrain ribbon and I used the Trio Flower Punch.  I punched 6 flowers out and then punched small holes in the center and strung them on the ribbon.  Tied a knot at the end.  Pulled it through the back of the body and tied another knot.  The little flowers are just kind of bunched together all wrinkled up to look like  a poofy tail.  I was very pleased with how it looked!

The colors for the lion are More Mustard and Chocolate Chip and a little bit of Pretty in Pink for his tongue.  I did sponge around his face, cheeks and ears with Chocolate Chip ink.

Isn’t he the cutest thing?

The nugget holder idea has been around for many years – I know I saw it when I first signed up as a Demonstrator.  Just change the image on the front to be whatever you need – use punch art or use a stamped image to say “Thank you” or anything else you need.

Punch Art always takes longer because of the little pieces and assembling them together but the end result is always so cute.  I have lots of punch art projects and I have been taking part in some online classes called Simply Punches – right now I’m in the middle of a holiday class so I need to make some of those and share them with you too.

So for my treat class – I think I have now shown three projects and I have three more to go.  Yes we made 6 all together and I could have gone on an on with other ideas.  It was hard to stop.  It ended up being a really long class but everyone enjoyed it and had a great time!

Happy Punchin’!
