Today is Scrapbook Day. It is my monthly scrapbook class. And I have two fun 12×12 2-page layouts planned. I’m not going to show you those today instead I’m going to show you the layouts we made last month – since apparently I never shared them. So here is the first one –
The back ground is Sahara Sand 12×12 card stock. The stamp sets that I used are The Open Sea and Sail Away. Both of these are in the Stampin’ Up! Summer Mini catalog which ends on August 31st. So you only have a few more days left to order these.
On this left page I stamped the manifest image in Soft Suede down the left edge. There are strips of Patterns Designer Series Paper in Pool Party, Soft Suede and Cajun Craze. In the upper corner is the featured sailboat with the sunset. See this post for details on how to do the masked sunset. Th Big Shot dies are 3″ Circle, 3-1/2″ Circle, and the Scallop Circle.
There is the panel of Pool Party and a mat for a grouping of photos framed in Cajun Craze with a scallop border strip in Soft Suede on the side. A couple of anchors are stamped around the page.
The right hand page added a few more elements. First the pennant banner at the top. This is the new Petite Pennants Builder punch. The letters for “beach” were stamped using the Just Perfect Alphabet set. I used the 1/16″ punch to put holes in the top of each pennant. Then strung them on a piece of White Baker’s Twine. My idea is that above the banner you would stamp the name of the Beach that the pictures are about. So I plan to use our summer beach photos and will add “North Myrtle” to the top of the page. If you aren’t at a specific beach it could just say “A Day at the”.
There is also a tag hanging down with the date – I just tied a knot to the twine at the end of the banner to attach the Modern Label punch. It kind of blends in with all the Pool Party so I probably should have use a different color card stock for it.
Down in the corner is an idea I got from a swap at convention. Using the Modern Label punch to create the mooring posts. I used a Stampin’ Write marker to add some lines to make them look like wood. A piece of Bakers Twine is wrapped around one and tied in a knot.
Now I need to print my beach photos so I can add them to this page.
I also wanted to say thanks to everyone for all the emails and comments about the Shadow Box Advent Calendar project I shared this week. I have been getting tons of emails and I have tried to reply to each one. I created the project for the UStamp class so I can not share the tutorial with you. But you can join this awesome class and get it there. The cost works out to less than 75 cents per tutorial and there are some awesome projects so it is well worth the money. The box kit was something I purchased online at a big box craft store – but I can’t post that specific information here per my demonstrator agreement with Stampin’ Up!
Have a great day! I can’t wait for my scrapbookers to here so I can show them this months layouts. I will share those with you guys later.
