I am making final preparations to leave for the Stampin’ Up! Leadership Conference early tomorrow morning. And part of that is setting up some blog posts for this week to show you some of the things that I made and will be taking with me to swap. One of the best things about a Stampin’ Up! event is the swapping. Meeting new people, getting lots of ideas and seeing old friends are all part of swapping. There are generally two kinds of swapping going on – organized swaps – where someone plans a particular swap around a theme, type of project, or product and there are a set number of people swapping. I am signed up for several of these. And then there is general swapping – where you just swap like projects with whoever is around you and you make as many as you want to swap. I have some of these too but not as many as I do when I go to convention. The organized swaps that I am in include a full card swap with the UStamp class girls, a treat wrapper swap – I’m in two groups for this one, and a scrapbook swap. I haven’t done a scrapbook swap before so I’m anxious to see what kind of layout ideas I get.
Of and something new that they added to our event is a contest – for every stamp set in the Occasions Mini Catalog they will choose a winner from the contest entries – so I was attempting to make a card (or scrapbook page) with every stamp set from the Mini Catalog that I have. And surprisingly I have a lot – and most of them I earned free one way or another – I think I only bought two stamp sets. I haven’t finished making everything I wanted for the contest entries but I’m hoping to get a few more done – the more I enter the more chances to win. And they will put them up on the display boards to share with everyone too.
So now onto something to share with you today…..
This is one of my contest entries and general swaps. It uses the new Take it to Heart stamp set and the Hearts Collection Framelits Dies. I really love these Framelit dies – I hope we have more when the next catalog comes out this summer. I also used the Loving Thoughts stamp set – all the words in that set fit inside the banner that comes with the Take it to Heart set. The banner does have to be cut out by hand – no punch or die for it.
