Sale-A-Bration is coming to and so quickly! I haven’t even shared all the things I have made using these stamp sets. Here is another idea for you using the Bloomin’ Marvelous stamp set.

I know I got this idea from somewhere – but can’t seem to find it now – I checked my Pinterest boards but don’t see it on there. So if you know where I saw this let me know. I know I made some changes but the card idea and I’m pretty sure the stamp set was the same.
I’m not sure you can tell in the first photo – you can probably tell better in this one but the front of the card has 1″ cut off of it and the Designer Paper is glued to the inside of the card and peeks through to the front. The 1″ strip that I cut off was used to stamp the butterflies that are punched out and added to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Here are a few more details for you:
- Card base is Naturals White
- Designer Paper is Tea for Two from the Spring catalog
- Near the fold I did some embossing with the Simply Scored Borders plate
- colors are Calypso Coral, Marina Mist and Wild Wasabi and Early Espresso for the words
- Pearls in the centers of the flowers
And a quick bird update – the Bluebirds are right on schedule – egg #4 came today –

Bluebirds lay 4-5 eggs so we’ll see if she adds one more tomorrow or if she is done. It is supposed to get cold here – we have had nice spring weather and we could get some snow flurries Thursday or Friday – I hope she keeps those eggs warm. I feel like these are really early this year. Let me go see when they were doing this last year. So I wend back and check my blog posts from last spring and on March 18th I was posting about the Chickadees and Bluebirds fighting over the same house. Perhaps the Bluebirds didn’t want that problem this time (they lost out last year) and started earlier to beat them. I guess I’ll have to wait and see where the chickadees go – no nests in the other houses yet.
Have a great day!

Here is one more quick card using the Madison Avenue stamp set and a few other Sale-A-Bration items.
The Sycamore Street Designer Series paper was used along with the coordinating Madison Avenue stamp set and Vine Street Embossing folder.
This is a 4-1/4″ square card.
I used this card as an example during some new demonstrator training sessions. This would be easy to change to use the products you have on hand.
The base used here is Shimmery White card stock – but you can just as easily use Whisper White.
You could use a different embossing folder or not emboss it all.
Switch out the ribbon – the Sycamore Street ribbon would have worked here too.
The Fabulous Phrases stamp set that I used here has a ton of different words to choose from – but if you don’t have that one choose something you do have.
The stamped flowers were embossed with clear embossing powder and the heat tool – but you could stamp with just VersaMark ink or use the same color as the card stock.
Switch out the designer series paper – and then use matching card stock.
There are so many different ways to alter this little card you could have a whole stack and each one be different.
Oh and another picture to share with you – my bluebird is right on schedule – egg #3 arrived today –

Let’s see if she adds another one tomorrow!

Here is a card using the Bloomin’ Marvelous stamp set – it’s one of the Sale-A-Bration exclusive sets and has a gorgeous font on the phrases plus flowers and a hummingbird in the set.

It’s a Peek-a-boo style card and I got this idea from Dawn Olchefske.
Thanks Dawn for this beautiful card idea. I pretty much used her card exactly. No need to change something that was so pretty to begin with.
And more bird news – Egg #2 has arrived today –

It’s pretty amazing. This picture isn’t that great – it is with my iPhone and it was starting to rain when I snuck out to take a peek. I checked earlier before the rain but no second egg – so this picture was taken within 3 or so hours of when she laid it. Tomorrow I’ll see if there is another one – it should be one a day until she is done – usually with 4 or 5.
You may also want to follow my on Facebook – Stampin’ Up! has lots of specials and news coming out each week and I can get it out faster on my FB page than here on my blog – plus you may see some projects and other things on there that I’m not posting here. I tried to add a link plus you can go to the right side-bar on my my blog and like my page then be sure to add it to your news feed so you can see as soon as something is updated. This morning a big My Digital Studio announcement – what was MDS2+ is now going to be MDS and will be $19.95 – now there is no reason to keep putting off getting this product. Read more about it on Mydigitalstudio.net (you can get there through my FB page too).
Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day and Happy Spring!
The Bluebird laid the first egg today. I’ll check each day – we should see one new egg each day until they are done.

I am so very ready for spring to be here. The birds are ready too (at least I think they are). Today instead of a stamping project I have photos to share of some of the birds that have been visiting my backyard. The Bluebirds have been house hunting and finally chose a house to build a nest in – I think it is earlier than past years. I have four bird houses up throughout my back yard. And I watched the bluebirds go in and out of all of them. But finally they settled on the same one they normally use each year.

Female Eastern Bluebird building a nest in the bird house
I have spent some morning sitting in the sunroom and watching the birds – and when I have my camera I can sit and wait to get some good photos. I wanted to share just a few of the bird visitors that have been in the yard recently.

The male Eastern Bluebird sitting on my porch rail.

A mocking bird visiting on the porch.

Pine Siskins – tons of them have been here emptying my feeder. Sometimes there are 25 or so on the ground under the feeder.

The little Downy Woodpecker that visits all the time.

The Red-Bellied Woodpecker – I usually have a pair of them in the yard – I’m hoping they will nest in the woodpecker house this year.

A hawk came by last week – I believe this is a Cooper’s Hawk.
It is another cold an very windy day here. The neighbors tree came down last night and broke our fence. It snapped the tree right in half – it was a dead tree and full of holes – I think that is why the woodpecker’s are here all the time they have been feasting on that tree next door – you should see how many holes are in it.
Have a nice day and think SPRING thoughts!

Thank You Stampin’ Up! for a wonderfully relaxing Getaway Trip to Hilton Head Island, SC. Greg and I really enjoyed the trip and the time away on no particular schedule. I posted a few quick posts with some pictures why were there but I wanted to wrap it up with another post and a look at what we did during our few days away.
This post has some pictures and what we did on Thursday after we arrived.
This post has some pictures from Friday.
This was our pillow gift on the last night – Stampin’ supplies in a plastic case –

Here is what we got inside –
The Postage Due clear stamp set, Fan Fair Designer Series paper, Riding Hood Red and Pink Pirouette ink pads, Island Indigo Baker’s Twine and Ruffled Ribbon, Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake Seam Binding, and a package of the Designer Vintage Faceted buttons. Everything this weekend has had the Polka Dot Fabric and cute beach themed tags tied around it.
I put together a couple of two-page spreads in My Digital Studio showing some of the pictures that I took over the weekend.

Here are pictures taken at the Westin Resort where we stayed – views looking out to the beach and ocean, views of the pools and statues through the resort.
And this last layout were pictures from two of the places we went to visit – on Saturday we drove down to Sea Pines Plantation and stopped at South Beach and then went to Harbour Town. We climbed to the top of the Lighthouse, walked around the Marina and ate lunch at the Crazy Crab. Then we stopped at the Baynard Plantation Ruins. On Sunday as we left Hilton Head Island we stopped at the National Wildlife Refuge at Pinckey Island – I took pictures of the wildlife and scenery as we walked around – we probably did about a 2 mile walk.

And look at these birds that we saw in South Beach – Macaws – the blues ones are Kiwi and Cherokee, the scarlet one is Captain.

It was a nice weekend and I’m slowing getting back in the groove here at home. I’m working on prepping for a vendor table at an all day scrapbook crop on Saturday and then a scrapbook and stamping consignment sale next week.
Alright – time to get off the computer…..
