I sat down to play with my February 2015 Paper Pumpkin kit last night. It’s called Layers of Gratitude and makes accordion folded cards with boxes to put them in. Here is the video from Stampin’ Up! to show you the original project
I started by creating one of the cards and boxes following the instructions. But as I was working on it I thought it would be quick and easy to convert this project into a quick box of tags. So that was what I made next. I cut the accordion card sections apart to make 8 tags. I stamped each one and added a piece of twine to the corner after punching a hole. Then I decided to add little stars that I cut out of the left over orange felt from the letters in the kit. I used the strip of stars thinlit from the Mini Treat bag Tinlit die set.
I even added a couple of felt stars to the box.
Here is my original card where I followed the instructions.

At Christmas time I usually take a little something to a few of our neighbors. For some years now it’s actually been the same thing every year but packaged in a different way. I make them an Almond Chicken Cheese Ball and include a sleeve of crackers. I like to drop them off in the afternoon on Christmas eve and then they can use it that night or Christmas day as a yummy little appetizer. It’s always a big hit.
This year I decided to use the Take Out boxes in the Holiday Catalog – which have also been included in the Occasions Catalog. Inside the box is the cheese ball and the crackers. To dress up the box I used some of the Crumb Cake scalloped Tulle Ribbon – it has been on the Clearance Rack – it was in a Holiday catalog a while back. Cut a piece wrap it around the box and tie in a quick bow. Then I added the tags from the November Paper Pumpkin Kit! Quick, easy and they looked so festive with the blue & silver.
If you are a Paper Pumpkin Subscriber you can still get this get as a refill – just add it to an order – It includes the supplies for the tags and the cards – just not the stamps or ink – but you can use what you already have in your stash. Simply Snowflake Refill Item #136919 for $7.95 – supplies for 8 cards and 12 tags.
Adapt this idea for other holidays or just for taking a hostess gift or a new neighbor gift over. Add ribbon and a tag around the box filled with something yummy to share.
I actually wrote a post a couple of days ago for my blog – and for some reason it has disappeared. Sigh. Weird things happening perhaps it’s time for a new laptop. So instead of that post here is a different one – I’ll have to recreate the missing one.
I saw a cute card on Tessa Wise’s blog and decided to recreate it using all Stampin’ Up! products including the September Paper Pumpkin kit. It was the Halloween Boo kit with some great stamps for cards as well as the tags in the box.
Here are some details on the card:
Card base is Sahara Sand – the front is embossed with the large polka dots Embossing Folder and stamped with the small splatter dots from Gorgeous Grunge stamp set
I layered on some pieces from the Motely Crew Designer Series Paper. Largest piece has rounded corners. The small strip is flagged at one end.
Stamp the Happy Halloween from the Paper Pumpkin kit on the larger strip and some of the bats on the largest piece.
I cut a ghost shape out using the Fall Fest framelits – stamped on eyes and mouth and sponged the edges all with Sahara Sand ink. Attach with Stampin’ Dimensionals
Tie some Bermuda Bay Bakers Twine around the largest designer paper piece.
I hope you like it. Here is another view.

I used the Big Shot and the Star Framelits to create an alternate card using the stamps and ink from the August Paper pumpkin kit.
I stuck with the same concept as the kit. I used a piece of designer paper underneath the whisper white piece that has a “window” cut out with the star framelits. I added the little dot stamp and a greeting. Corner rounded the edges and tied on some Bakers Twine.
I hope you like this idea.
Thanks for visiting.
