I will be having a Holiday Gift Making weekend on November 6th and 7th at my home in Woodstock, GA. The class fee to come at any time over the weekend is $10. My house will be open from 10:00 am – 10:00 pm on Saturday and 10:00 am – 6:00 pm on Sunday. You can drop in at any time to complete your projects, but make sure you allow yourself time depending on how many gifts you plan to make. I will have snacks and drinks here – if you plan to be here during lunch or dinner you may want to bring something or you can run out to one of the various places near my house.
I will have about a dozen different projects for you to choose from. Each will have a supply fee and you can sign up to make the ones you want and multiples of any. I’ve tried to include a variety so that you’ll have gifts for everyone on your list! These can be gifts for friends, family, teachers or things to keep for yourself!
Registration for the class and your projects needs to be completed by October 22nd at which time I will be ordering all the supplies and creating your project kits. No refunds can be given after that– sorry. Everything needs to be prepaid and I am setting up my PAYPAL account so you can do it all through there or you can mail me a check if you prefer.
Handmade gifts are always extra special and you could be done with all of them the first weekend in November – how exciting would that be!
I hope this will be a fun event for everyone!
I will have all of your projects with pre-cut materials and instructions ready for you to create when you get here.
What to bring:

Oct 1, 2010 | Big Shot, Bingo, Cards, Christmas, Embellishments, Holiday Mini Catalog 2010, SU Ribbon |
I just loved this card idea when I saw it shared by Lee Conrey a couple of weeks ago. So super simple but elegant. Here is a link to her original card – click here.
I made a color change for my card and used a Soft Suede card base and a Crumb Cake piece for the embossing. This is the new Northern Flurry embossing folder in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday mini catalog. Isn’t it gorgeous?
After I embossed it I used the Frost White Shimmer Paint and a Sponge Dauber to lightly add the frost shimmer to the embossed snowflake.
I punched a hole with my Crop-a-Dile – I used the smaller hole. The ribbon is Early Espresso 3/8″ Taffeta ribbon – which is lighter than the actual Early Espresso color so it worked great on this card. The greeting is from Sincere Salutations – which is one of my older stamp sets – I had this one long ago before I was a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator. The final touch on this card are the Rhinestones in the center of each snowflake. These are new in the Stampin’ Up! catalog and a lot of people are missing them because they aren’t easy to see in the catalog. They are on page 188 under the section Jewels. It lists both the Basic Rhinestones which is what I used here and the Basic Pearls (love those too). These come on a sheet and are self-adhesive. I use my paper piercer to carefully lift one off the sheet and place it on my project. Each sheet has 3 sizes of Rhinestones or Pearls plus three strips or chains – where there are a bunch of the small ones already in a perfect row for you. But if you don’t need them in a row you can seperate them and use them individually.
For this card I used all three sizes of the Rhinestones because I had three sizes of the snowflakes. There is one in the center of each.
Let’s play Bingo…..

Sep 30, 2010 | Big Shot, Bingo, Cards, Christmas, Holiday Mini Catalog 2010, Thumping |
The holidays are rapidly approaching and to help you with that, I am trying something new this year called the 12 Weeks of Christmas.
Do you need help with Holiday ideas? Need idea for your Christmas cards or gifts? Do you want some Holiday inspiration?
If your answer is yes to any of these questions, then say HELLO to the 12 Weeks of Christmas Newsletter. This will be a weekly newsletter sent out on Wednesday’s starting October 6th. Each Wednesday, the newsletter will contain a card or project (which will include hand made gift ideas, decorations, tags, and packaging). You will get a picture of the project, a list of supplies used to create it and a brief description/instruction (if needed) for you to make this project.
Here is an example:

This card uses the Thumping technique to create the trees – I used this same technique earlier on a fall card. For this example I inked my trees with Pear Pizzazz ink and then used Stampin’ Write markers in Wild Wasabi and Garden Green to thump the image before I stamped it on my paper. I went back and added accents with the Smooch Pearlized Accent ink in Gold.
Stampin’ Up! Supplies:
- Card stock: Wild Wasabi, Garden Green, Soft Suede,Whisper White
- Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Soft Suede, Stampin’ Write Markers: Soft Suede, Garden Green Wild Wasabi
- Stamp sets: Paisley Prints, Peaceful Season
- Big Shot Die-Cut Machine, Square Lattice Textured Impressions Folder
- Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink Gold Lame
To order Stampin’ Up! Supplies to make this project click here.
The first issue will be released on October 6th and run for 12 weeks ending on December 22nd. These will not be posted on my blog or website – they will only be sent to those that are signed up for the 12 Weeks of Christmas Newsletter. Anyone can sign up – CLICK HERE – fill in the information and click send to be added to my list. If you can’t email this way then click under my picture where it says Contact Me and add it to the comments section and submit it there. Thanks!
Happy Holidays!
Let’s play Bingo…..
It’s BINGO TIME! We are playing Round 4 of Monika’s Blog Bingo. I’m currently taking names for Round 6 which is almost full. See this POST for more details on how to join, how to play and the Round 1, 2, and 3 winners.

Sep 28, 2010 | Bingo, Circle Circus, Holiday Mini Catalog 2010 |
Today’s stamping project is in an earlier post – so scroll down to the next post if you didn’t see it. Thanks!

It is time to start ROUND 4 of Monika’s Blog Bingo!
Here is piece #1 for Round 4: small swirly circle from Circle Circus stamp set (stamped in Pear Pizzazz).
Here are the rules for playing Monika’s Blog Bingo (I reserve the right to adjust the game if necessary):
First since I plan to mail a prize to the winner you need to live in the US (sorry if you don’t but the prizes are SU product in most cases).
Second: I created 16 cards so I’m going to have 16 people play in each round and I hope to do multiple rounds. ( I know I said 15 to begin with but I miscounted and starting with group 2 there will be 16 players).
Third: You need to email me at [email protected] with Monika’s Blog Bingo in the subject line and tell me you want to play. I need your name and your mailing address (so if you win I can send you a prize).
Fourth: I will email you an image of your Bingo card – each card is unique and I will have them numbered so I know which one you have.
Fifth: After I have all 16 players I will post a Bingo Piece each day on my blog – so you have to keep coming back – it will likely be at the end of my regular post for the day – and if I don’t have a regular post it will just be by itself.
Sixth: I will post Bingo Pieces until someone has Bingo – you must have 5 in a row – across, down, diagonal – just like normal bingo and once you have Bingo You have to email me that you have – send the email to [email protected] – subject I have Bingo!. I will check your card against the pieces that have been played to make sure you have Bingo. And if per chance there is more than one on the same piece, I will pick the winner by the time stamp on the email – first one wins after verifying the Bingos.
Then I’ll mail the winner a prize!
A couple more things on how I am playing this game: Only one group will play at a time. If you are playing in a current group you cannot sign up for any other groups. Once your group is finished and if you did not win you can sign up for another group and play again.
I hope you’ll play along with me! Is everybody ready….
Let’s play Monika’s Blog Bingo!
Group 1: Winner Carolyn from NC
Group 2: Winner Patrice from CA
Group 3: Winner Stacie from CA
Group 4: cards sent on 9/27, game starts on 9/28
Group 5: full
Group 6: taking names – see rule 3 above.
Thanks for playing along with me!!

Sep 27, 2010 | Bingo, class, D is for Dog, Fabric, Holiday Mini Catalog 2010 |
This project was one from my Love Your Pets class. Its a treat jar – mine is decorated for a dog but I gave the class the option of doing a dog or cat. We used the D is for Dog and C is for Cat stamp sets. And the jars are decorated with the new Stampin’ Up! fabric in Holiday Mini Catalog and the Big Buttons.
I used one of the fabric patterns from the Deck the Halls bundle and the coordinating Big Designer Buttons. The fabric is torn into strips and wrapped around the jar to overlap the ends. Then I used Linen Thread to tie around it and hold it tight and then I put one of the big buttons on it. So its not a fabric sewing project but it is a fabric project!
The lid is decorated with elements from the D is for Dog stamp set. And the new 2″ Circle punch is exactly the right size for the top of the jar – these were the regular mouth jars not the wide-mouth. And I ran the circle through the Square lattice embossing folder too.
I also created a tag to tie around the button – the D is for dog stamp is punched with the small tag punch and layered with the large tag punch. The paw print is punched with the 3/4″ circle punch, and the bone is cut out. They are all threaded on a piece of Linen Thread and tied around the big button.
I filled it with dog treats and now it sits on my counter. I really like this fabric because the patterns aren’t really Christmas patterns – you can use them for every day projects not just holiday projects. I can keep this on the counter year round. And I know Aspen and Magnolia will be happy about that!
If you are checking in on Monika’s Blog Bingo – I finally found my winner on Sunday afternoon. So it’s time to get a new group started – this time it will be group 4 and here are the players:
- Marilyn from NY
- D from WA
- Cinthia from MA
- Susan from Wis.
- Peggy from Maryland
- Sandi from MI
- Ruth from CT
- Ola from Indiana
- Sue from MS
- Cristy from TX
- Judy from CA
- Jeanette from GA
- Amy from MN
- Cinda from GA
- Patty from FL
- Kim from NJ
I will email Bingo cards for Round 4 to all of you and the first Bingo piece will be called on Tuesday 9/28. I really like how everyone is from all over the US! Isn’t it fun? Thanks for playing along. I’ll have an updated post with all the rules when we start on Tuesday.
Have a wonderful Monday!

Sep 22, 2010 | Big Shot, Bingo, Cards, Halloween, Holiday Mini Catalog 2010, Smooch Spritz techniques |
Another Halloween project to share with you. This is my spooky witch boots card. I bought this stamp set Wicked Cool because I like these witch boots. For this card I added several new products –
First, the new Web Embossing Folder for the Big Shot, then the new Waffle Paper in Basic Back, and Smooch Spritz and Chunky Black Glitter.
The base of the card is Rich Razzleberry card stock. To create the spider web piece I used Basic Black card stock and ran it through the Big Shot with the Web Embossing Folder. Then I used a sponge dauber to add Whisper White craft ink on the embossed portions of the web. Finally I took it outside (I have bad aim) and used the Color Catcher and my Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz and spritzed on it. Ta-da a shimmery spooky web for my card.
To create the medallion for the front of the card – at least that’s what I call it – starts with a piece of Whisper White card stock punched with the 2″ Circle Punch. Then I stamped the boots and the Spooky on it. I also stamped an extra pair of boots in Rich Razzleberry and cut those out and added them to the top of the others with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Now to add the ruffle around the circle I cut a strip of the Waffle Paper about 1/2″ wide, put snail adhesive all around the edge of my circle on the back, start with one end of the Waffle Paper and stick it on the snail kind of crunching it up a little – once it is stuck you won’t be able to move it. I used 1-1/2 strips and just overlapped where one ended and the other started – you can’t see it because of the wrinkles. Turn it to the front and trim anything that looks uneven. To add the glitter put some Tombo Multipurpose Adhesive all around the edge of the white circle – then sprinkle with the Chunky Black Glitter. Then I put the medallion on the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Still no emails about a Bingo winner – oh where oh where has my Bingo winner gone……so here we go again…
It’s BINGO TIME! We are playing Round 3 of Monika’s Blog Bingo. I’m currently taking names for Round 6. See this POST for more details on how to join, how to play and the Round 1 and 2 winners.
Here is piece #13 –the friends sunflower from
Cute by the Inch stamp set (stamped in Peach Parfait).
Maybe 13 is going to be lucky for someone today!
