Festive Farmhouse Jar – Day 3

One of my favorite things about the Stamp, Scrap & Create Retreat is to surprise everyone with little gifts throughout the weekend.  For the Farmhouse theme there were tons of ideas online and in the stores.  I even managed to find the little red truck with a tree in the back – these were ornaments that I decided to use to make a little decor piece.  This idea is floating around online in a variety of places.

I actually used glue dots under the four tires of the truck to anchor in to the bottom of the jar.  Then sprinkled in some “snow” that I found at the store.  I decorated the lid with a circle of the Farmhouse Designer Series Paper and some of the striped burlap ribbon.  I added a simple tag made from banners and tied them on with the Farmhouse Cotton Twine.

Supply List

  • Farmhouse Christmas stamp set
  • Festive Farmhouse Designer Series paper
  • 5/8″ Striped Burlap Trim
  • Festive Farmhouse Cotton Twine
  • Corrugated Dynamic Embossing Folder
  • Festive Farmhouse Cardstock Pack
  • Mossy Meadow ink
  • Triple Banner Punch
  • Big Shot Die Cutting Machine
  • Glue Dots
  • 1-3/4″ Circle punch
  • Layering Circle Framelits
  • Tear & Tape

This little jar makes a cute desk decoration or gift for a neighbor.  Enjoy!

Farmhouse Christmas – Day 2

Moving on to day 2 of my Farmhouse Christmas projects from the Fall Stamp, Scrap & Create Retreat.  I have another card for you.  It came from an idea from another demonstrator that is part of the Artisan Design team.  The Stampin’ Up! Artisan design team always give me lots of inspiration.  They are such a creative bunch and I’m excited to see the new team in 2019.

This card has the beautiful Galvanized Metal paper with the Tin Tile Dynamic Embossing Folder for a background – I just love the look of it.  The cute little house from the Farmhouse Christmas stamp set is perfect for the sentiment ” from our home to yours”.  The Cotton Twine is one of my favorites and the assortment has three colors – Mossy Meadow, Very Vanilla, and the Cherry Cobbler that I used here.  We have had this twine in the past in some other colors.  I was happy to see it back – it’s so soft!

Supply List

  • Farmhouse Christmas stamp set
  • Farmhouse Framelits dies
  • Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper
  • Whisper White Thick card stock
  • Whisper White card stock
  • Cherry Cobbler card stock
  • Crumb Cake card stock
  • Festive Farmhouse Cotton Twine
  • Galvanized Metallic Paper
  • Tin Tile Dynamic Embossing Folder
  • Big Shot Die Cutting Machine
  • Black Memento Ink
  • Stampin’ Blends: Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals

On my supply list I don’t usually include the basics like Snail Adhesive, Paper Snips, and the Stampin’ Trimmer – those are things used pretty much on every project.  And I use my Simply Scored Tool for all my scoring.  If you’d like me to list the basics every time let me know.

Farmhouse Christmas Day 1

Earlier in the fall I held my Stamp, Scrap & Create Retreat.  The theme was Farmhouse Christmas and I used that suite of products for the little gifts and all the projects we made.  I don’t think that I ever shared them here on my blog. Many of the projects were inspired from other other demonstrator ideas or from decor or crafty ideas I found online. Places like Pinterest and Instagram and magazines provide lots of inspiration.  I have 12 different projects to share so I thought I would do a 12 days of Farmhouse Christmas!

So here we go with day 1 – this card idea came from a non-Stampin’ Up! card that I found online.  It’s similar to another layout that I’ve used quite a bit lately.

For this card I’ve used the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series paper, Festive Farmhouse Cotton Twine, and the Galvanized Buttons from the Festive Farmhouse Suite.  The sentiment is from the Merry Christmas to All stamp set – I just love the size of this and the mixed fonts.  I think the Sprig punch also fits well in this suite of products although you will find it with the Joyous Noel suite in the Holiday Catalog.

Supply List

  • Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper
  • Festive Farmhouse Cotton Twine
  • Galvanized Buttons
  • Merry Christmas to All stamp set
  • Sprig Punch
  • Very Vanilla Thick Card Stock
  • Very Vanilla Card Stock
  • Memento Black ink
  • Mossy Meadow Card Stock
  • Mini glue dots
  • Paper Snips

For this card the measurements are

  • Very Vanilla Thick card stock 11″ x 4-1/4″, scored at 5-1/2″
  • Designer Series Paper 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″
  • Very Vanilla card stock 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″

Adhere the Designer Series Paper to the front of the Very Vanilla Thick card base.  Stamp the sentiment on the Very Vanilla layer at an angle in the corner of the card stock.  Then adhere that layer to the front of the card so that the words are straight and the layer hangs off the edge of the card.  Use Paper Snips to trim off the excess around the edge of the card front.  Punch three sprigs and attach with glue dots to the card.  The button is also added with a glue dot.

This one actually turned out to be my favorite card from the 8 that we made.  It’s another card design that would be easy to switch out the designer paper for other designs.

Country Lane Thank You

I hope that you had an enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday with your family.  My three boys were home with us for a few days.  Then on Thanksgiving day we drove to my parents house and enjoyed the afternoon/evening with them and my brother’s family.  It sure was nice to all be together.  Now my boys are all gone again – back at work and school.  But luckily it won’t be long now before they are home for Christmas.

My card today uses the Country Lane Designer Series Paper from the Holiday catalog.  It has pretty imagery and colors but for this card I cut it into little squares so I could use a bunch of designs at once.  This would be a fun layout to try with other papers for different seasons too.

The Crushed Curry and Blackberry Bliss are are really beautiful color combination.  And the new Tin Tile Embossing folder is one of my new favorites.  If you don’t have it be sure to get it!

Supply List

  • Country Lane Designer Series Paper
  • Tin Tile Dynamic Embossing Folder
  • 3/16″ Braided Linen Trim
  • Blackberry Bliss card stock
  • Blackberry Bliss ink
  • Crushed Curry card stock
  • Crushed Curry ink
  • Whisper White card stock
  • Stitched Shapes Framelits dies
  • Big Shot Die Cutting Machine
  • A Big Thank You stamp set
  • Whisper White Envelopes
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Here is a look at the inside of the card.  If my card base is a dark color I like to add a coordinating white or vanilla card stock layer on the inside.  For this one I used white and then added a strip of the Designer Series paper to match.

Thanks for visiting today.  Be sure to catch the Extravaganza Sales on my website this week.  Stamps & Kits on sale for the rest of today – Nov. 26th.  Then Tools and inks on sale Nov. 27 & 28.  The sales include most items from the Annual Catalog.  There are exclusions and limits on supplies.

Thanks for All You Do

Thanks for all you do.  Yes that’s something we need to say all the time.  There are so many people to thank for the various things they do in our lives.  I’ve been trying to be good about sending out thank you cards this year.  Making the cards isn’t the problem – its writing the note inside, addressing them, getting the stamp on them and getting them in the mail box.

So when 2018 started I challenged myself to be better – I started doing #mailacardmonday – every Monday I mail out cards – sometimes it might be just one and other times it might be 10 or 20.  I had a few slips where instead of Mail a Card Monday it was Try Again Tuesday!  And last week not only was it a holiday (which normally I still try to have them in my box) but it was pouring rain and cold – really POURING rain – so I didn’t even try to go outside.  So my cards went out on Wednesday and more on Friday.  But today I’m trying to get back on schedule to finish out the year and plan to keep it up in 2019.

Today’s card is a sweet Thank You card.  Really a very easy design that could be adapted with any designer series paper for any time of year.

The pumpkin paper is from the Toil & Trouble Designer Series paper pack from the Halloween Suite in the Holiday Catalog.  It was a perfect pattern for a fall card after Halloween.  Cut the paper into 4″ squares and you can get 9 cards out of one sheet of 12×12 paper.  I added one of of the metallic Leaves Trinkets from the Annual Catalog tied on with Linen thread for added touch of fall.  The stamp set is Friendly Expressions also in our Annual Catalog.

Supply List

  • Friendly Expressions stamp set
  • Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper
  • Early Espresso card stock
  • Cajun Craze card stock
  • Whisper White card stock
  • Linen Thread
  • Leaves Trinkets
  • Early Espresso ink
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals

Now I think I’ll get out some of my Christmas paper and try this same idea to make a stack of Christmas cards – what do you think?

Trick or Tweet Scrapbook Page

I have one final project for you using the Trick or Tweet stamp set.  Now that you have all your treats and hopefully you have your costumes ready it’s time to take all your photos on Halloween.  And then you’ll need to add them to a scrapbook page!

Today’s project is the scrapbook page that I designed for my October Stamper’s Club meeting.  I used the Trick or Tweet stamp set.  This is a 12 x 12 page and has spots for 3 photos on it.  If my kids were still little I’d have a photo of each one of them in costume on this page.  I may need to go dig up some old photos instead.

One little trick on here – it looks like the back has several layers of card stock with a very tiny border.  But in reality its a line drawn with the Stampin’ Write marker.  I cut out of thin cardboard (I used the pieces that come in the back of the Designer Paper Packs) an 11-1/2″ square.  Center the square on my 12″ x 12″ piece of Whisper White card stock and trace around it with the Gorgeous Grape Stampin’ Write Marker.  It gives the look of the extra layers without the added card stock.

Supply List

  • Trick or Tweet stamp set
  • Whisper White 12×12 card stock
  • Card stock: Pumpkin Pie, Gorgeous Grape, Granny Apple Green, Whisper White, Basic Black
  • Triple Banner Punch
  • Starburst Punch
  • 2″ Circle Punch
  • Memento Black ink
  • Stampin’ Blends: Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Smoky Slate, Granny Apple Green, Mango Melody
  • Animal Outing Designer Series Paper
  • Animal Friends Thinlits
  • Large Letter Framelits
  • Big Shot Die Cutting Machine
  • Artisan Textures stamp set
  • Gorgeous Grape ink

It’s a little hard to see but the Gorgeous Grape strip across the top of the page is stamped with the Artisan Textures stamp set.  I didn’t have any patterned paper in that color like I did for the other two strips so I thought I would stamp it instead.

If you are local to me I’m updating my class schedule for November and December.  Adding Santa’s Workshop Bingo,  Christmas Stamp a Stack classes.  Be sure to check out my schedule.
