One of my favorite sets in the new Stampin’ Up! catalog is the Watercolor Wings set with the coordinating Butterfly Framelits. I decided to pair that set with the new Gift Bag Punch Board and this was the result.
The Striped Designer Paper is the Gold print from the Neutrals Collection Paper Stack. Instead of Whisper White and Very Vanilla Stampin’ Up! included Gold and Silver paper in the Neutrals collection. I like the gold with Soft Suede – which is what I used to make the bag with the Gift Bag Punch Board.
The butterfly is stamped in layers with Pool Party, Bermuda Bay and Soft Suede. I found that it was easier for me if I first stamped the layers for the wings, then cut it out with the framelit and then come back and stamp the body on the cut out image. I can’t seem to stamp the body in the right place if I do it before I cut – maybe I just need practice.
We made this project for my June Downline meeting and I used it also for my July Stamper’s Club – but for that one we added the holes and tied the bag shut with some of the Gold Baker’s Twine. I didn’t however have a photo of that one so I’ll need to take one.
