I’m back – I took a few days to go visit my parents and saw my brother, sister-in-law and niece and nephew. We took 4 birthday gifts, had a birthday party, a birthday dinner, walked in the park, rode bikes, played games and legos and had a relaxing weekend. Only Ryan and I went while Greg and Tyler stayed home to work on the deck. I need to take pictures of their progress. Last week I tried to shop for birthday presents for Noah (6) and Ally (4) and just couldn’t find anything that I thought was the right thing. So I went back to the basics – I got them each a hula hoop, a big bouncing ball, bug nets and sand toys. And that seemed to be the perfect gift – all the kids at the party wanted to play the hula hoops and the balls.
So today’s card for the Utah Diva’s Color Challenge is a birthday card – and if you can believe it wasn’t even one of the four cards that I used for this weekend. Click on this link to go to the Utah Diva’s Color Challenge blog. This is our Color Challenge inspiration for week 24:
I really wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with these colors – So Saffron, Blushing Bride, Cherry Cobbler and Always Artichoke. Originally I thought flowers since that is what was in the inspiration picture but nothing came to me. I was working on projects for a class last week and I wanted to use the Create a Cupcake stamp set and the new Build a Cupcake punch. I had a swap card from the Leadership conference last month that I copied the layout from and used these color challenge colors. It turned out to be a really cute card and colors that I would not have used together worked perfectly for this.
