I accidentally discovered a new technique when I was working on creating this card. I’ll show you the card first and then I’ll tell you what I did.
I took a piece of Cajun Craze card stock and ran it through the Big Shot with the Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I decided that it wasn’t exactly what I wanted but I didn’t want to use up another piece of card stock while I was planning my card. So instead I used the same piece and ran it through the Big Shot a second time but this time I used the Framed Tulips Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. When I did that it added the frame and slightly flattened out the stripes. While I wasn’t trying to create a double embossed piece once I had it I decided I liked it! So I did use it for my card.
The card base is River Rock (which is a little hard to see in this picture). Then the double embossed layer of Cajun Craze. I used a piece of the Well Worn Designer Series Paper and cut out a leaf with the Big Shot and Leaves #2 die. On the card I stamped “Three Little Words” from the stamp set by the same name. And then the “thanks so much” from the same set is stamped on River Rock card stock and punched with a modern label punch. The leaf has Linen Thread tied around the stem and then it is attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
This was one of the cards for my August KSU card class. The September class is coming up next week and I have planned a Fall, Halloween and a Christmas card. It should be fun.
The county schools are on Fall Break next week. We are not going any where this time but I do have Ryan signed up for the Driver’s Ed class – so he will be busy with that all week. This is just the classroom part not the driving part. He still needs to get his permit.
Thanks for stopping by today!
