Heart #3 – Valentine Push-Up treat

Have you seen this fun idea?  A fill your own push-up.  This is Heart #3 idea for you.

valentine-push-pop

It is a clear plastic push-up container – the stick is actually tied to the outside with the ribbon – but you stick it in the bottom and pushup to eat the treats out of the inside.

push-pop-top

Here is a view from the top – there is a cap for the top.  Mine is filled with sweet-tart hearts on the bottom and a mini cupcake on top. You could fill with various things including cake, frosting and even ice cream (just freeze it).   Here are some tips for decorating the push-up tube –

  • use a strip of More Amore Designer Series paper around the base of the push-up
  • tie a piece of Primrose Petals ribbon around the base tying the stick to the side (I did that because I wanted it to be able to stand up – once you put the stick in the base you can’t stand it up)
  • make a tag – stamp the large heart from Hearts A Flutter and cut it out with the framelit
  • stamp the Happy Valentine’s Day stamp and punch with the heart punch – layer on the scalloped heart
  • punch a heart from the two-step owl punch – it’s Pool Party and fits perfectly on the Valentine stamp
  • punch a 1/16″ hole, add some Whisper White Baker’s Twine and tie the tag to the ribbon.

The More Amore and Hearts a Flutter stamp set and framelits are in the Stampin’ Up! Spring catalog.  A fun little treat.  I hope my boys like them.

Just a little personal note – this morning I took Ryan to audition and interview for the Georgia Governor’s Honors Program.  He is trying out for Percussion in the Music category.  These are the state level auditions – only 1% of the sophomores/juniors in the entire state get to this level.  And when I asked one of the judges today he said there were about 22 kids auditioning for the percussion spots – there are 4-6 spots.   I’m a very proud mom today – I know he did his best regardless of the outcome.  It will be sometime in March before they announce the finalists.    If he makes it that means he goes away to Valdosta State University for 4 weeks this summer.  He’ll study music-percussion as his major and then take a minor in another subject.  It should be a challenging and exciting experience for him.

Have a good weekend!

Heart #2 – Hugs & Kisses

Heart #2 is a cute little Hugs & Kisses treat.  The perfect sweet treat to give to everyone you see on Valentine’s Day.

hugs-kisses-holder

We made one of these in my Hearts A Flutter class too.  It was a cute little idea that came from  Melissa Davies – she was in a swap with me at Leadership.  Melissa wrote a nice tutorial on how to create this little project – you can find it by visiting her blog – click here.

  • I used the love from Tiny Tags on mine and punched it with the Jewelry Tag punch
  • I added a little knot of 1/8″ Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon
  • the rest follows Melissa’s tutorial

Sending Hugs & Kisses your way!  Enjoy!

I do hope you feel the LOVE!

Hearts A Flutter Hands On Class

Hearts A Flutter Hands On Class

Heart #1 – is a project from my  Hearts A Flutter Hands On class that I had in January.  The photo above shows you all the projects.  And the card on the right was one I previously shared with you.  Today I’ll share the card on the left.

more-amore-valentineThis card features the More Amore Specialty Designer Series paper and the Hearts A Flutter Bundle.  It’s inspired by a little scrapbook project that I received in a swap and was created by Glenda Travelstead. I enjoyed meeting her at Leadership this year and she even walked with us late one night as we returned to our hotel telling us all about how she got started in her Stampin’ Up! business.  It is always fun to meet other demonstrators and hear their stories and inspiration.

Here are some details on this card –

  • Crumb Cake card base stamped with the En Francais stamp set in Crumb Cake ink
  • Add a strip of the More Amore Specialty Designer Series paper to the left side of the card front
  • Cut apart one of the hearts from the More Amore Specialty Designer Series paper laser cut sheet  attach to the front of the card
  • Stamp the flag in Pool Party ink on Pool Party card stock and cut out with the die using the Big Shot- both from Hearts a Flutter bundle
  • Stamp the scallop tag in Primrose Petals ink on Primrose Petals card stock and cut out with the die – Hearts a Flutter again
  • Cut a tag from the designer paper using the tag die from the Hearts a Flutter framelits
  • Stamp your word – my card shows Happiness from the Loving Thoughts stamp set, but we also used Amour from Artistic Etchings – use Real Red ink and punch out with the Modern Label punch
  • punch holes in each of those with the 1/16″ circle punch and string on a piece of Pool Party Baker’s Twine – tie the Baker’s Twine around the front of the card and finish with a bow.

The More Amore Specialty Designer Paper and the Hearts A Flutter Bundle (the stamp set and framelits) are both available in the Stampin’ Up! Spring Catalog.  You can order all the supplies for this project through my website – www.monika.stampinup.net.

So that is your first heart project.  There are more to come!

Pretty Petites and Curly Labels

Have you seen the new Petite Curly Label punch?  It is the cutest and coordinates perfectly with the Pretty Petites stamp set from Sale-A-Bration and also with the Ciao, Baby! stamp set from the Spring Catalog.   I really love this cute little punch and I have another Creation for this weeks challenge from Create with Connie & Mary .

This week is a new sketch challenge – and I have to admit – I was not very excited about this one.  But I got through it and came up with a cute little card.

2012 Create Thursday-017

Trying to decide what to do with this sketch – I kept coming to the little Petite Curly Label punch.  For the little sections I decide to use the Curly Label punch and use half pieces on the side.  Here it is –

ccmc237-monika

Here are some details on this card –

  • card base is Summer Starfruit – 4-1/4″ square
  • emboss with the Needlepoint Border Textured Impressions Folder
  • Punch with the Curly Label punch from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack – punch 4 and cut 2 in half
  • Stamp images from the Pretty Petites stamp set – I used Raspberry Ripple and Summer Starfruit
  • Punch out with the Petite Curly Label punch and also punch some from coordinating card stock  – turn the card stock punches in the opposite direction and glue behind the stamped ones – see how it creates a little frame on the top and bottom
  • Punch a flower using the Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack.  Crumple and add a mini silver brad to the center
  • Add the flower to the frame image.
  • Ta-da!

So what do you think?  It turned out pretty cute – didn’t it.  The stamp set and the punch are both available during Sale-A-Bration for free with a qualifying order.  But in case you can’t get both or you have lots of others that you want – the punch will be available for sale after Sale-A-Bration ends.

Visit the Create with Connie & Mary site to see the creations from the rest of the design team and to submit your own creation for this new challenge.  I hope you will play along with us this week – I’d love to see what you do with this sketch.
