Aug 13, 2014 | My Digital Studio, Scrapbook Pages, Virtual Crop
Did you know that once a month I have a My Digital Studio Virtual Digi Crop on Facebook? My friend Cindy and I host a virtual crop on our Facebook Group – MDS Virtual Digi Crop. If you’d like to join the group leave me a comment here so I know to approve you.
Last night was our Virtual Crop for August and Cindy and I each had a challenge for the group. Everyone has until tonight to make their creations and then add them to the photo album for everyone to see. Then we choose a Pick of the Crop and you get a fun little badge to display on your own blog or Facebook page.
For last night my challenge was to create a planner – either a monthly or weekly planner. I created both. My weekly planner look like this –

I printed out my page and filled it in for this week. I have a some changes I’m going to make and I’ll print a new one for next week. I just use regular paper and keep it on my desk. I’m planning to write my shopping list on the back for dinner each night. I’m trying to do a better job planning out the meals for the week – I haven’t done that in many years. We were just all so busy going in all different directions. Now that Ryan is going off to college it will all be different.
And Cindy had us do a sketch challenge using one digital kit. Here is my creation for her challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Aug 11, 2014 | Big Shot, Cards, Thinlits |
I loved the new Hot Diggity Dog stamp set in the Stampin’ Up! Annual catalog. Of course if you are a cat person then you need to look at the You Little Furball stamp set instead. But I’m a dog person so I bought the Hot Diggity Dog set. Several years ago I created a bobble head Dog card, and then later a bobble head Frog card, well when I saw this set I decided to create a new bobble head Dog card. I think they are fun!
It’s harder to “see” in a photo but the little head bobbles. How do I do that? It’s not that hard really. I stamped and cut out the head – which is easy with this stamp set since the heads are all separate. The body is stamped on the circle underneath. Punch a hole in the circle and put a brad through it loosely – you want the brad to be loose so it can move around and wobble. Attach the head to the top of the brad.

Oh – and I also discovered that we have a dog bone punch. Really – we do. It’s the new little flower in the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack – just snip away two petals on opposite sides and you have the perfect dog bone! I added two of them to this card.

The card itself is made from the Circle Card Thinlits die and the Big Shot. I was also featuring the new Lost Lagoon In-Color on this card. Love that color.

Aug 4, 2014 | Stampin' Up! Convention |
Thursday night during convention I had the special privilege of being invited to stamp with my 4th level upline (Sandy Hancock) and my 5th level upline’s (Margaret Goodfellow) house. And when I got there my second level upline (Kathy Thorn) was there too! What an exciting chance to be with them all. It’s my Stampin’ Up! Family and its always exciting to me to think it goes directly to the top. Margaret is demo #1 and Shelli’s Aunt – she is the first demonstrator! Also there was demo #2 Janet Baker – she is also Shelli’s Aunt.
She has a beautiful home in the Utah mountains and there were about 20 of us there. We had a wonderful dinner and then went down to her stamp room for some card making fun. Everybody made 4 different cards. I’ll get photos of those and post later. For now here are some pictures from the evening.

most of the group – it seems a few more people arrived after we took this group photo.

View from the porch

one side of the craft room. One card station was on the counter under the quilt. Another was at the table on the left. The Big Shots were under the window on the right.

The other side of the craft room. two more tables with card projects on them. And a wall full of display shelves and baskets of supplies.

I wanted to catch the sunset over the mountains but got busy stamping and forgot – so I was a little late…

It was getting dark but the flowers were beautiful at the front of the house
We had quite the adventure driving and returning the rental car. Sandy rented the car and took 7 of us in it. I navigated on the way home and then got us through downtown Salt Lake City and through the concert traffic from Pioneer Park, over to the Radisson to drop off a few of the girls, then back to find a gas station and the rental car place. Then we walked from there back to the hotel.
It was a fun evening and I hope to be invited back again. I wish I had taken a picture of dinner – it was delicious and also of everyone stamping.
Thanks for stopping by come back again!
