Off to Leadership

Hi all!  I’m off to Leadership in Houston, Texas.  I thought I would have time to get some posts out here – but no such luck.  Time is running out.  If you get this by email I’ll already be in Houston by the time you read this.

I’m leaving early Wed. morning. I hope there aren’t any flight delays.  Everything is now packed except this laptop.  As soon as I finish here I will pack it up and go to bed.  I do have some things photographed – so I’ll get those edited and posted during the trip and/or post about the happenings at leadership.  From my phone I can post to my Facebook page – so you may want to follow me there for updates during the day and pictures too.  This should be the link to get there – CLICK HERE.

Here is a quick – Tell Me Tuesday update.

This week the Weekly Deals are these –

Get Organized for the New Year with Paper Pumpkin

I created this project a few months ago using the October Paper Pumpkin Kit.

Paper Pumpkin Index Card Organizer Box - Monika Davis

Paper Pumpkin Index Card Organizer Box – Monika Davis

The October 2013 Paper Pumpkin Kit had three stamps – TO DO, NOTES and ALL OUT OF – with a Gumball Green Ink spot and then the project pieces to make the Memo Roll.  I find myself using Index Cards for many things and decided this would be the perfect thing to use these stamps for.  I designed a box to fit 4×6 index cards.  I used the Envelope Punch Board to help with the box and the divider cards.

notecard-box

Here is a photo with a few notes on the box –

box-template

  • You start with an 8-1/2″ square piece of card stock.
  • On one side score at 1-1/8″ and 7-3/5″
  • On the opposite side score at 4″ and 5″, cut tabs to fold up the box
  • on the shorter side use the Envelope Punch Board to make the notch – line up each side at the 2-1/8″ score line on the Envelope Punch Board and punch, then cut away the in between piece.
  • I also corner rounded on the corners – see photo.
  • assemble the box
  • decorate

If you want to stamp on the index cards for each section – I used Gumball Green, Calypso Coral and Basic Gray.  I keep it on my desk and use the index cards for a variety of things/lists.

I enjoyed creating this fun project with the Paper Pumpkin stamps.  We made this in my Stamper’s Club back in November.  I hope you like it!

Baby it’s cold outside!

Living in Georgia it doesn’t really get that cold here – I like it that way.  It’s cold already and getting colder.  I suppose most of the country is the same.  Here they are saying the coldest temps since 1986!  Monday a low of 6 degrees – yikes!  Ryan should be going back to school on Monday but I have a feeling they may not have it.  I guess we shall see.

I realized I didn’t share this card earlier – it was actually one of my November Stamper’s Club projects!  I completely forgot to take photos of the projects we made in November.

telescope-snow-manIt’s actually pretty fitting to share this now – since it is so cold.  It’s my telescoping snowman card!  He is all twisted up to fit inside an envelope but when you stretch him out – he looks like this –

I used the Circle Framelits to make this fun card!  And guess what – the Circle Framelits are part of the weekly deals this week – so you can get them for $20.21 – regular price is $26.95.  And I used Bermuda Bay ink which is also on the weekly deals – $4.46 for the classic ink pad.   To see all of this weeks deals or place an order – CLICK HERE.

Here are a few more notes about this card –

  • Circle Framelits to create all 3 pairs of circles – Bermuda Bay/Whisper White, Real Red/Whisper White, Pool Party/Whisper White
  • The bottom two sections were stamped with the Endless Wishes stamp set
  • The buttons in the center are punched from Basic Black using the Itty Bitty Circle punch
  • The nose is punched from Tangerine Tango using the Itty Bitty Ornament punch
  • The eyes are rhinestones that were colored black with a sharpie
  • The hat is a 1-1/4″ square punch with two corners rounded and a word window punch at the base – all in Basic Black.
  • A piece of Real Red ribbon around the hat.
  • A white flower is from the Boho Blossoms punch with a Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine bow added to the center of the flower.
  • The arms are the retired snowflake punch.
  • The circles are connected with the Silver Mini Brads.

Stay warm!!

Occasions Catalog is now LIVE!

catalog 2014 occasions

It’s a fun new catalog with lots of things to LOVE!  I know my wish list for this one is really long.  I got a handful of things in over the holiday (yes Demonstrators get to pre-order!) and have recently started playing.  Sorry for not posting much on my blog.  I did get some time today to take pictures of a few projects so I hope to get those on here in the next day or so.  Plus I have to get out a January newsletter to my customers.  And I’m finishing my prep for Stamper’s Club – that’s tonight and tomorrow morning.  I probably didn’t mention this yet but I do have some exciting news to share!

Next week is the Stampin’ Up! Leadership Conference in Houston, TX.  I leave Wednesday morning and on Thursday afternoon I am going to be one of the Share Fair Presenters!  OMG!  What was I thinking?  I will try my best not to shake and turn bright red – but just so you know that is very likely to occur as I will be extremely nervous the whole time.   I still have to finish preparing for my display board and go over my presentation a few more times.  There is an on-site rehearsal as soon as I get to Houston on Wed. – I sure hope my flight isn’t late.

I still have lots to do for Leadership – like get some swaps ready including a shoebox swap, friend gifts, roommate gifts. Yikes!  I better keep moving and not sit still until I get on that airplane next week.

You can start ordering from the new Occasions catalog by visiting my store – GO HERE.

Happy New Year!
