If you haven’t seen the Stampin’ Up! Simply Adorned Charms and Chains in person – you need to.  I love mine and the fact that I can create inserts for the charm to suit my mood, my outfit, the season, the holiday, whatever I want is awesome!

Later this month I have a special class planned – everyone that attends will get to make at least 12 inserts for their own charm, we will make a holder to hold the inserts that you are currently using and decorate the box.  I’ll add the details at the bottom of this post – I also sent email to my email list yesterday.

I knew that I wanted to create a Monogram insert as well as a Black & White insert so yesterday I combined those two ideas into one and came up with this.  This is the side of the charm has the beveled glass.  I used Lovely Letters for the Monogram – the ‘M’ happens to be wider than the charm so I decided to cut it out and trim off the little tails (that’s what I call them) on the sides so that it would be narrow enough to fit in the charm.  It is also popped up on little bits of Stampin’ Dimensionals – so it is raised off the bottom layer.

The bottom layer is stamped with images from the Charming stamp set.  And you can just barely see a piece of black card stock on the left side that I punched with the Scallop Trim Border punch.

The back of the charm also has a piece of flat glass so I have been creating a coordinating insert to face the back of my charm.  When I wear mine it tends to flip back and forth so now which ever way it faces it will look nice.

For the back I also used the images from the Charming stamp set and added a little piece of ribbon.

I was able to make these in just a few minutes to go with what I was wearing yesterday.  I’m ready to make some more.  You could use little scraps to create these inserts – you are working on a small canvas so you only need small bits.

Below are the class details – thanks for visiting me today!

Come join me for a Special Class on

Sunday, March 28th – 2:00 pm – Simply Adorned Jewelry Class

The class fee will be $28 – prepaid by March 16th.

The class fee will include the 1” x 1-1/4” Simply Adorned Charm and box,

We will create at least 12 inserts for the charm, a holder for the inserts, decorate the box and make a gift tag (if you plan to give it away).

You need to bring your paper snips and adhesive.

If you would like a chain there are two sizes and you can add that to the cost of the class –

24” chain – add $12.75

34” chain – add $15.00

The charms have a lobster clasp so you can use on a chain your already have or even with ribbon or cord.

Please RSVP and give me your payment by March 16th.  I will be placing an order for the charms/chains that have been pre-paid. If you miss this deadline you can still attend the class but you may not receive your charm/chain until after the class.  Final RSVP cut-off to attend the class will be 3/24.

Our Simply Adorned line beautifully combines the best of two worlds: stamping and jewelry!  The charms are designed to hold a creation that you make yourself; making your jewelry truly unique.  Simply Adorned charms are lockets – they open up so you can insert your creation or a photo.  The frame surrounds tempered beveled glass on the front and flat glass on the back.  Because there’s glass on both sides of the charm, you can display an image on one side or both.  You can create a custom heirloom piece that you’ll never want to change, or you can swap artwork in and out, depending on your mood or your wardrobe.

The charms are nickel-plated and the chains are anodized stainless steel.

I have my charm and a 24” chain if you would like to see them in person.

They are really nice and would make a wonderful gift (think Mother’s Day or birthday) for someone but you can always keep it for yourself!

I hope you can join me!
