If you haven’t already bought one of the Simply Adorned Charms you really should. I have the 1″ x 1-1/4″ charm (which is the medium size) and the 24″ chain (the smaller one). I love it. Making little inserts to go inside is really a lot of fun. you can just use bits of scraps left on your craft table and you can whip something up in no time to match what ever you might be wearing. No more worries about matching your jewelry to your clothing.
I have had one class already and have another coming up in June featuring the Simply Adorned Charm. In my class we decorated the box, created a belly band for the box, made a holder for all the inserts that aren’t currently in the charm, and then we made a whole bunch of inserts – basically one for each month. It was a very fun class. The details for my next class are at the end of this post.
I wanted to share a few of the inserts with you today.
This is the easiest one. I cut a piece of window sheet to fit inside the charm and then decorated it with rub-ons. This one is nice because it is see-through so you can wear it with any color top – solid colors would be the best. The color of your top will show through the clear window sheet – so you have a perfect match for your outfit! I saw this idea somewhere else and thought it was the best ever.
This next one is actually one of my favorites. The little snow man is one from the Holiday Lineup set – there are a whole line of snowmen to choose from – so you could use a variety. I created a matching backside using the words from Punch Pals. When I wear my charm it tends to flip back and forth as I move around so I create a front and a back. I think the idea for this snow man was also one that I saw somewhere else – I can’t remember for sure.
The black and white monogram – I think I have already showed it to you. It is my favorite one and I wear it a lot. It uses the Charming stamp set and Lovely Letters for the monogram.
I just made one for a neighbor to give as a graduation gift. On the back I made something completely different – I still have to down load the pictures of it to show you – so I’ll do that later in another post.
Right now I seem to be wearing this one a lot with the greens and yellows in it. The little butterflies from the Beautiful Wings Embosslit are just perfect to fit inside. And yes even a little brad will fit in the charm. Just make sure you really flatten it in the back.
So those are just a few of the charm inserts we made in my class. I also used this as my project for our Weekend at Wendys. The main thing was the holder that I made and then everyone made some of the charm inserts to go inside.
This last photo is actually the front and back of the holder that I created to hold all the inserts. The design of the holder it self is mine but the little decoration on the front was an idea I saw that another demonstrator had used. The stamp set is the Sale-A-Bration set Vintage labels – I have redesigned the front using a different set now but I didn’t get another picture of it yet. The background is the Medallion stamp.
And here is the information for my next class:

I just love the detail in your inserts! Thanks so much for sharing your creativity.
Monika,
I would love to come to your class on June 6th but I have to work that weekend (FS&S). Anyway to make the inserts on another day or later Fri, Sat or Sun evening?
Great ideas! I gave a charm to my daughter after her Ballet Recital this past w/e but never thought to give her a bunch of inserts! Instead I just decorated the front an back of one — how did you work the “cushion” with the window sheet insert?
Really cute charm inserts. I didn’t know they could be so 3D. TFS!
