This week I did something new. I visited the Ronald McDonald House over by Northside Hospital. I met two other Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators over there – Jenn Nahrstadt and Nadine Am. Jenn designed a cute little card using an old Sale-A-Bration stamp set called Very Punny and some bright cheerful colors – click here to visit Jenn’s blog and see the card.
It was a quiet night – with only two people joining us to stamp – a mom who was there with her young son and a 19 year old girl. I guess in a way it was good that there weren’t too many people there that means there aren’t so many children that are seriously ill that they needed to be there. We did stamp and complete all the cards and they were left for anyone that might need them.
I’m planning to go again and get into the rotation of designing a card. If you are a demo near by and would like to help out you can contact Jenn and she is now officially the lead for this house. I think she just got it changed the same day we went down there this week.
If you aren’t a demonstrator you can also help by purchasing the stamp set Very Thankful – a portion of the sales from this stamp set get donated to RMHC.
Here is the information from our Stampin’ Up! Website about this program:
Stampin’ Up! is partnering with Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC) to bring comfort and creativity to the lives of Ronald McDonald House guests. Each year, thousands of families stay at more than 160 independently operated Ronald McDonald Houses in North America. These Houses serve as temporary homes for the families of seriously ill children who are being treated in nearby hospitals.
We are pleased and honored to become a national sponsor of RMHC. Together, these two caring, helping organizations will create a powerful environment in which House guests will be able to enjoy creative expression in the comfort of their “home-away-from-home.”
As part of our commitment to support this organization, Stampin’ Up! will:
- Make an annual contribution of $100,000 to RMHC.
- Design an exclusive stamp set each year; a portion of the proceeds from the sale of that set will be donated to the organization. This year’s set is Very Thanful.
- Donate items created by our demonstrators to Houses in the cities where we host events.
- Facilitate a program through which demonstrators can make a caring contribution and organize volunteer activities at Ronald McDonald Houses.
Have a “Very Thankful” kind of day!
