Look at this cute project!  It is a pin cushion top on a button jar.  The jars are short wide mouth jars that I was able to purchase as part of a bulk buy group.

The project idea is from Stampin’ Up! – it is one of the projects shown in their Fabric projects pdf that you can find on the Stampin’ Up! website – click here.

I pretty much followed the instructions.  I cut a 6×6 inch piece of the button print out of the Sweet Stitches Designer Fabric collection.  Then cut three layers of batting using the Big Shot and the 3″ Circle Die.  Also trace the lid onto a piece of thin cardboard and cut out – it should be just bigger than the 3″ circles.

I glued the 3 layers of batting to the card board and then covered the whole thing with the fabric.  I used a hot glue gun to attach all the fabric to the bottom of the card board piece and then I fit it into the ring.  I glued the jar lid on the bottom of the card board – so that it covers all the ends of the fabric and make it looked more finished.

I finished the jar by adding ribbon around the lid and the little jewelry tag punch with “hand crafted” from the Tiny Tags stamp set.  Fill the jar with buttons and add some straight pins in the top.  The buttons in my jar are Sweet Stitches Designer Big Buttons also in the Stampin’ Up! occasions mini catalog.  The buttons and the fabric are part of the Sew Suite Collection which also includes stamps, designer paper, and more.

I heard some of the Spring Bingo players are getting close to Bingo!  Maybe today is the day – will you be the winner?  Here is the next piece.

Have a wonderful rest of today!
