Hello my friends.  It’s time for our monthly A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop.  A blog hop filled with alternate ideas using contents from the monthly kit. This month our kit is – Picnic Paradise.  Think summer bright colors, fruit, baskets, gingham.  It’s a fun kit that just makes me smile.

While I like the mini cards and envelopes that are in the kit I wanted to see about using the parts to make full size cards.  So that’s what I set out to do.  I actually made two sets of cards – one using the pieces of the cards and one using the envelope.  Today I’m sharing the envelope cards.  My ideas are quick as I’m getting this ready before I head out to Alaska for the Stampin’ Up! incentive trip.

Mini Envelope Cards

I took each mini envelope and cut it apart and then used the front to die cut a stitched square using my Big Shot.  I stamped the greeting on the cut piece.  For each card I cut a coordinating piece of card stock to 3″ square and stamped the stitched lines around the sides.  I tied 24″ twine around the card stock and tied in a bow.  Stamp the lines on the card base before attaching the layered square to the front.

Supply List

The additional supplies that I added to complete this project were:

  • Card stock – Crumb Cake, Granny Apple Green, Blueberry Bushel, Poppy Parade
  • Stitched Shapes Framelits
  • Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine

I saved the rest of the little envelopes to use for something else – the insides are printed with the Gingham checks.  Here is a close up of one of the cards.

I hope you liked this alternate idea for the monthly Paper Pumpkin kit. Leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts.
