Welcome to the monthly A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop.  Every month a group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators take the monthly Paper Pumpkin kit and create some alternate ideas.  Visit all the blogs to get lots of options for the components in each kit.  The kit we are featuring in this hop is the Something For Everything kit from Dec. 2019. We are a little later than normal because the kits shipped late, and took longer to arrive with all the holiday shipping going on.  Hopefully your kit has arrived by now. If you are one of my subscribers and need me to track  your kit please let me know.

The Something For Everything kit has a really nice stamp set filled with a whole bunch of greetings for every occasion.  The kit came with everything you need to complete 12 full sized cards.   A perfect set for getting a stack of cards prepared for the new year.  You could even complete the cards and wait to add the stamped labels as you have an occasion pop up.  Just store everything in your Paper Pumpkin box until you need a card.

Here is a look at the stamp set that was included and all the different options you have.  It’s why they called it Something for Everything – these cover all kinds of occasions.

For my idea I decided that the cards in the kit were very feminine and that I wanted to make some more masculine looking cards.  This month I also pulled out the pieces and did not look at the instruction sheet.  I thought I would just play with the pieces and not use the designed cards as a starting point.

His & Hers Cards

The cards in the kit have a printed front and a solid color for the back, so for my cards I cut the original cards in half and trimmed each side to be 5-1/4″ x 4″ so I could use them as a layer on a plain Whisper White card base. This doubles the number of cards you can get from the kit just by adding a few supplies. I used a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker for some added doodling on a couple of the cards.  And a small circle punch to punch out from the leftover sheet of gold foil embellishments.  For each card base in the kit I created two cards – a his and hers version.

Supply List

The additional supplies that I added to complete the Shaded Spruce cards:

  • Card stock – Thick Whisper White (card base)
  • Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker (little dots in the center of small flowers, doodle around edge of card)
  • Whisper White Envelope (for the masculine card)

Supply List

The additional supplies that I added to complete the Terracotta Tile cards:

  • Card stock – Thick Whisper White (card base)
  • Whisper White Envelope (for the masculine card)

Supply List

The additional supplies that I added to complete the Crushed Curry cards:

  • Card stock – Thick Whisper White (card base)
  • Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker (doodle around edge of card)
  • 1/2″ circle punch (to punch gold foil circles)
  • Whisper White Envelope (for the masculine card)

I hope you liked this alternate idea for the monthly Paper Pumpkin kit. Leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts.
