Hello Stampin’ friends. It’s time for our monthly A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop. A blog hop filled with alternate ideas using contents from the monthly kit. This month our kit is – February 2020 Lovely Day.
This fun and elegant celebration kit is our first one ever to coordinate with a Sale-A-Bration item from the biggest Stampin’ Up! Promotion of the year. The February 2020 Lovely Day Paper Pumpkin kit was designed to coordinate with the Happy Birthday to You stamp set. You can redeem this set for Free with a qualify order during Sale-A-Bration. Place a $50+ order and pick up some coordinating card stock, dies or adhesive and get the Happy Birthday to You set for Free to create even more ideas with this kit.
Candle Celebration
I took a very different twist for my alternate idea. Using the stamp image of the cake layers I turned them on their side to make candles. Color each stripe with a different color by using Stampin’ Write Markers. The colors I used are – Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, and Gorgeous Grape. Its my ROYGBIV rainbow of colors – but you could choose whatever color suits your theme. To create the flame just tap down the brush tip on the Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Marker. Use the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Maker to outline all the candles and add doodle designs on each one.
The Celebrate image was stamped over and over again on a panel of Whisper White card stock to create a background. And Birthday Wishes was stamped on a strip of Daffodil Delight and just cut out. I finished the card by adding some of the Peaceful Poppies Sequins. Really I added these to cover up a spot that I accidentally made on the card!

The additional supplies that I added to complete this project were:
