Hello my friends. It’s time for our monthly A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop. A blog hop filled with alternate ideas using contents from the monthly kit. This month our kit is – Joy to the World. It’s a special kit that will be offered globally in all of our markets. So Stampin’ Up! friends around the world will be able to enjoy this kit.
This kit makes 8 beautiful Christmas cards. And includes die cut pieces in three languages – English, German and French. That means you can easily create cards for friends and family around the world that might speak these other languages. My family is from Germany and my mom would love to send some of these out. I have a kit saved just for her.
I created some variations on these cards using the pieces in the kit. One I added a different stamp set so it didn’t need to be a Christmas card. The design and colors of the kit make it easy to use for holiday thank you and birthday cards too. You’ll notice the size of this card is different – it’s what our European friends use as a standard card size. Enjoy trying something different.
Wreath Card
This card uses the pieces from the kit just in a different combination. I tied the twine directly around the wreath for a nice bow. And I didn’t use either of the embossed pieces – just stuck with the gold banner and white label for my greeting. It’s a super quick idea.
Supply List
The additional supplies that I added to complete this project were:
- none – everything was in the Paper Pumpkin kit
Thank You Card
For this second card I decided the pieces would make a pretty non-Christmas card. I pulled out a stamp set called Beautiful Autumn from the Aug-Dec Mini Catalog and used the Thank You on the white tag. The die cut flowers are beautiful and since there were two per card if you use only one on a card that means you can make double the cards. The Embossed piece looks like the retired Cable Knit embossing folder we used to have – so if you have that in your craft room you could create more pieces for additional cards – or substitute something else.

Great cards – I love using the stuff that’s already in the kit…and especially creating cards for different occasions. The ‘thank you’ from the Beautiful Autumn stamp set works so perfectly with the style of this kit. Thanks so much for sharing 😀
Such sweet cards, Monika! I love what you did with the pieces in the kit.
