Hello my friends. It’s time for our monthly A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop. A blog hop filled with alternate ideas using contents from the monthly kit. This month our kit is – I’ll Bee Yours. A fun Love filled kit that can be used for Valentine’s Day or other Love filled celebrations. I plan to use mine for a monthly gathering with some of my neighbors in February. I plan to focus on friendship. But I’ve also been creating some cards with the contents of the kit. And that is what I’ll be sharing with you today.
This month the Paper Pumpkin kit was filled with mini treat bags and mini cards – perfect for little treats for someone special. I am using a portion of mine for table treats when I have my neighbors over but the rest I’m using to make cards that I can mail out.
I made several different cards with this kit. One was actually featured in the Paper Pumpkin FB page blog post this month. That was exciting! But here are a couple of other ideas that I came up with.
Valentine’s Card Alternate
For this card I wanted to use the little treat bag with the embossed flowers as a layer on my card. So I decided to cut open each side of the bag so I could open it up flat and cut out the flower design that wraps around from front to back. I used the Stitched So Sweetly dies to cut out the cute stitched scallop rectangle. To match the Highland Heather Heart that I planned to use, I cut the larger scallop rectangle out of Highland Heather card stock. I glue these together. To cover up the fold from the bottom of the bag, use the Whisper White Baker’s Twine from the kit and wrap around and tie in a knot. The tag was shortened and stamped with Happy Valentine’s Day and then tie the bow. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the heart over the twine. Put the whole piece on a Whisper White card base.
Supply List
The additional supplies that I added to complete this project were:
- Card stock – Thick Whisper White, Highland Heather
- Stitched So Sweetly Dies
Money Holder Card Alternate
For this second idea, I used the little mini card and envelope. To make a slightly larger card, I pulled out one of the Whisper White Note cards & envelopes. From my Paper Pumpkin Kit I took the mini card and cut off the front. I stamped the large floral background in the center and then add the scallop border on all four sides. In order to keep the square shape of the card I trimmed the note card down to be a 3-1/2″ square – it will still fit in the same envelope. This allowed me to glue the mini envelope from the kit to the inside of the card – and that is where you can add some money or another little surprise. It’s a little too small for a gift card, but as another option leave the note card regular size and attach the envelope so the flap stays open and just creates a pocket – then you could use it for a gift card.

Thank You Card
Here is a look at the card from the Paper Pumpkin post. For this one I used the Heart Pack Punch that coordinates with this month’s kit. You can find the punch pack in the Jan-June Mini Catalog. I punched the front and back of one of the Mini cards. I positioned a smaller die-cut heart over the words on the stamped heart so that I could make this a thank you card. The little flowers are stamped multiple times from one inking to give different shades of color.
I hope you liked this alternate idea for the monthly Paper Pumpkin kit. Leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts.
The Blog Hop Continues
To continue through go and click on the next blog in the list below. All the other blogs should have the same list.
Don’t forget you have until the 10th of the month to subscribe to Paper Pumpkin and get that month’s kit.
For February the Paper Pumpkin kit is going to coordinate with the Happy Birthday to You stamp set that is part of the Sale-A-Bration Promotion. You can earn that stamp set free. Here is one way to do it. On Feb. 4th (our new Coordination Product offering starts that day) order a 1-month Prepaid Paper Pumpkin Subscription Code and the Birthday Dies (these also coordinate with the Happy Birthday to You stamp set) and one other small item – like Baker’s Twine or Stampin’ Dimensionals – that will get you over the $50 you need to get the Happy Birthday stamp set free. Then Sign up for Paper Pumpkin and redeem your Prepaid Code by the 10th – go here. If you are already a subscriber you just need to add the Prepaid Code and it will use that. Then once everything arrives in February you will have a whole bunch of coordinated products to make some Lovely cards for birthdays and celebrations.
