Grapefruit Grove Cupcakes

For my Catalog Kickoff event I found a recipe for Grapefruit Cupcakes.  I bought fresh grapefruit and zested them and juiced them and made home made cupcakes and a grapefruit glaze.  I had a Grapefruit Grove colored tray that was perfect for serving them on.  Everyone seemed to enjoy them.

I made the little tag to match so everyone would know what they were.

Welcome Lovely Lipstick

Every year Stampin’ Up! introduces five new In-Colors – fresh, trendy colors that we will have in our collection for two years.  So let’s take a look this week at the five new In-Colors for 2018-2020.

Lovely Lipstick

Lovely Lipstick is a bright red/pink color.  I think it is going to be a very popular color.  You’ll see it in two of our Designer Series Paper Packs and in one of the new ribbons.  It’s featured here in this card using the Accented Blooms stamp set.  I even stamped on the front of my envelope.

Supply List

  • Accented Blooms Stamp set
  • Lovely Lipstick classic ink
  • Lovely Lipstick card stock
  • Whisper White card stock
  • Whisper White envelope
  • Pick a Pattern Washi Tape
  • Basic Black Baker’s Twine
  • Rhinestone Jewels
  • Tailored Tag Punch
  • Stamparatus
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals

For my Catalog Kickoff Event I like to have fun with the In-Colors and incorporate them into the snacks that I’m serving.  It’s seems many of our colors get name after food!  But Lovely Lipstick was not one that fit into the food category so I had to think outside the box.  I finally decided just to focus on the bright red color and came up with this idea.

These are my Lovely Lipstick Twists – Strawberry Twizzlers.  I even decorated the jar that I put them in.

Supply List

  • Lovely Lipstick Card Stock
  • Whisper White Card Stock
  • Lovely Lipstick Classic Ink
  • Memento Black ink
  • Lovely Lipstick 1/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon
  • 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon
  • Varied Vases Bundle (Varied Vases Stamp Set & Vases Builder Punch)
  • 1/8″ Handheld circle punch
  • Everyday Label punch

Paper Pumpkin Blog Hop – Manly Moments

Hello my friends.  It’s time for our monthly A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop – for the May Kit – Manly Moments.  A blog hop filled with alternate ideas using contents from the kit.

This months kit was a nature themed masculine kit.  And a big stamp set with lots of words.  It was perfect timing for Father’s Day coming up in June.  Did you notice this kit uses some brand new colors and some returning colors?  Gray Granite and Soft Sea Foam are two brand new colors in the Stampin’ Up! Collections.  While Mossy Meadow and Mint Macaron are former In-Colors that are making a return as core colors this year.

My idea is super quick and simple – I tend to go to my trusty Notecards and Envelopes when I need a quick idea.  And yesterday was no different.  I just have one idea for you today.

Thank You Note Card

Just like last month I pulled out my note cards.  Since the stamp set was mostly words I focused on that and chose to do a thank you card.  But you could use any of the combinations of words for this idea.  The inspiration for this card came from a sketch I saw last week.  I needed two strips for the side and decided to cut apart the tri-fold card and use the two different patterns for my strips.  The Mossy Meadow ink spot was what I used for the ink on the words and the leaf – all the stamps are from the kit.  Paper Pumpkin kits don’t include punches since the pieces come precut for you but to finish this idea I grabbed some punches.  On the leaves I carefully used the starburst image to add lines – first adding the center line by stamping with the top of the starburst facing the bottom of the leaf.  And then adding the side lines by stamping with the bottom of the starburst against that center line.

The additional supplies that I added to complete this project were:

  • Card stock – Gray Granite, Mossy Meadow, and Whisper White
  • Circle punches – 1-3/4″, 2″ and the Leaf punch.
  • Whisper White Note cards & Envelopes

I hope you liked this quick idea. Leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts.

The Blog Hop Continues

To continue through go and click on the next blog in the list below. Everything worked correctly last month – so I’m crossing my fingers that it will work again this time.
