Jun 10, 2015 | Birthday, Cards, Paper Pumpkin |
For everyone that was a Paper Pumpkin Kit Subscriber in May you received a fun Birthday Bundle Kit.
It has the supplies to make 4 gift bags and 6 birthday cards. When my Aunt and cousin were visiting from Germany this week they wanted to see how I made my cards – I didn’t have anything prepped! But I had my Paper Pumpkin kit and pulled it out really quick. I put together a birthday card and as it turned out it was my cousin’s birthday so I gave it to her. I also spent a few quick minutes assembling one of the bags. Here they are –
I grabbed some Daffodil Delight ink so I could add some balloons to the envelope and make it cute too.
Then this morning I wanted to create a different version of the card using the supplies in the kit. And this is what I came up with.
Instead of putting the big die cut balloon on the bag I decided to use it on one of the cards. I also turned my card and when I added the strip it was too long so it got trimmed off. The Happy Birthday stamp fits perfectly on the balloon so I stamped it before adding it with the Dimensionals to the front of the card. I did add some Whisper White baker’s Twine and tied that in a bow at the end of the balloon. And also the Daffodil Delight ink for the balloons that I stamped on the envelope. Just as quick and easy as the original card!
Don’t forget today is the last day for the 50% off special I mentioned yesterday – there is still time! I can’t wait to see what the June Kit is going to be.

Jun 8, 2015 | Birthday, Stamper's Club |
You know how sometimes you create something and it just makes you happy! Well this is one of those cards and it’s super fun to make. It’s a happy card using the Build a Birthday stamp set with a little bit of Cherry on Top Washi Tape.
There are two new In-Colors in the Cherry on Top collection – Cucumber Crush and Watermelon Wonder – basically they look like the outside and the inside of a watermelon. Add to those some Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay and you have a bright happy card. And when you use the Build a Birthday stamp set it’s a perfect Birthday celebration. Did you know that those “cake layer” pieces in the set can also be candles? Pretty clever don’t you think.

What makes this card so fun to create are the colored circles that are floating around the candle. I used Sponge Daubers for the large circles and anyone care to guess what I used to make the small ones? It’s something you probably have right in your house – possibly even hundreds of them – it’s a cotton swab. Grab one cotton swab and one sponge dauber for each color and with a little dab in the ink and a twist on your card you get these fun circles!

Another fun aspect of this card is that it actually has a short front and the bottom of the inside peeks out – that is where the washi tape is. I used the dot pattern – it matches the dots I made on the card! Put there are 4 other patterns in the Cherry on Top Washi Tape collection. There is also a 6×6 Paper stack and you could use strips of that in place of the Washi Tape giving you tons of possibilities.

So fun and a quick card to make. My Stamper’s Club and card clubs had fun making this card this month. Here is the full list of supplies for you:

Jun 6, 2015 | Project Life, Scrapbook Pages |
Back in May as I was preparing for my Stamp, Scrap & Create Retreat I wanted to make a Project Life page using pieces of the Hooray It’s Your Day Card Kit from the Occasions catalog. About the same time was a challenge from the PLxSU Trio Challenge Facebook Group to focus on the cards and create a PL card (or cards). It was the perfect challenge for what I was trying to do. I used the pieces, parts, techniques, and layouts from the card kit to create the PL cards that I used in my page.
For the title I used one of the cards that had the embossed pattern on it – I spritzed the ink – Daffodil Delight and Wild Wasabi. Because our cards are only 5-1/4″ long it was a bit too short for my 4×6 pocket so I added an extra piece of Daffodil Delight card stock and put some of the washi tape from the kit over the seam. Here is a closer look:
For the second card – the one on the left side I used the stencil (or mask whatever you might want to call it) to get the “sunshine” background. The rest was all from the kit and was exactly like the card. Here is a closer look:
I love using those masks and can’t wait to get the new ones from the new catalog. And if you want more balloons we have the balloon framelits that you can use to cut more of those. I used the little file folder card and cut a piece for one pocket – it will end up with some journaling on it and the rest of the card was used on the last pocket along with all the little word window pieces and the clip. Here is another look:
I had fun with the Project Life Layout – it’s my mini me – my niece at her birthday party.
