Sorry I missed yesterday’s posting. I went out of town with Greg for the day and we left earlier than I originally planned on Monday and didn’t finish my projects or posting for Tuesday. Today I’m sharing my Simply Adorned swap – I used the Nature Walk stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Mini Catalog. I originally created this for a Simply Adorned class that I held in late December. Then I decided to use it also for my Leadership Swap – just the front side. And then again for my PAWS meeting Swap. I actually made minor changes in each one but I don’t have pictures of the last version – and I swapped them all away.
Here are my original front and back for my class. The little bee on the front is cut out and popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The flowers and the wings of the bee are covered with the Smooch Illuminate Top Coat Pearlized Accent Ink.
For my Leadership swap we only needed the fronts so the picture to the right shows the front again. Here I added a tiny piece of Linen Thread that is tied around the stem of the flowers.
While we were at Leadership I learned a new little technique that I really liked and ended up using that on the version I used for my PAWS group swap. We used an Aqua Painter to “paint” the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint. I don’t know why I haven’t thought of that before – you don’t need water in it – you are basically just using the brush so I guess you could also use a fine tipped paint brush to do the same thing. So I did that on the bee’s wings and on the flowers. And because I was short on time I left off the linen thread on my PAWS swaps. I’ll have to make one like that again so you can see the difference in how the wings look.
Have a great day! Oh, I have a new signature file using the Sale-A-Bration My Digital Studio CD elements – what do you think?
love your new signature; as always your posts are full of clean & simple ideas…….thank you for sharing!
Monica, I totally love your design, absolutely beautiful!! I find making small designs very challenging, so I give you tons of credit for coming up with this and being able to watercolor/paint so beautiful. I need to take a class on designing my blog — love yours!!
Your signature looks awsome! Good deal!
I loved your signature. Everything that I see you do is just me. I use a lot of your ideas with my girls in Seattle.
More great ideas! I always need some different ideas for inserts and you always come up with some great ones! Hope you aren’t getting too bad of weather. Here in Central Nebraska we just got a little snow but lots of wind and cold temps.
