Hi! Well the first day of school is behind us – at least Ryan’s first day. Our county public schools started today! So summer is over for Ryan. Tyler and Kyle are still home – their college schedules give them a little bit more time before they have to be back. Until then we will be cleaning out their rooms, shopping and packing up to move them in to their dorms.
And now for the Tuesday Utah Diva’s Color Challenge.
I see lots of purple in this weeks colors – which reminds me of my friend Laree! Concord Crush, Perfect Plum and Night of Navy and I decided to add Whisper White to the mix. I went with a My Digital Studio Hybrid card this week. Combining the digital elements with traditional elements is just one more option with paper crafting. Here is my creation for this week…..
The digital element is the main panel that was printed on Whisper White card stock. Using My Digital Studio I created a card – I added Perfect Plum Soft Flowers Designer Series paper as the background. On top of that I added the print digital stamp from the First Edition stamp brush set in Concord Crush and the flowers in Night of Navy. For the flowers I added a drop shadow that gives in a sponged look inside the flower. At the bottom of the panel I added two punches – the square punch stretched to a rectangle to fill the bottom of the card front and the Scallop Trim Border punch – both filled with Perfect Plum. On top of that I added an overlay from the Vintage Overlays – it is hard to see in this picture because it is pretty light. Using a text box I added the Happy Birthday choosing a font that I have on my computer. After printing this out I cut it to fit on my card front.
The traditional elements include adding the Taffeta Ribbon around the printed panel. Then attach that to a piece of Whisper White and then on the Concord Crush card base. Finally I added some of the tiny basic pearls – in the center of each flower and also for the dot on the “i” in Birthday.
