Last week was Senior night at the High School Football game.  The seniors are honored during half-time – band, football, and cheer.  The band also does a little something for them before the game – giving them a goodie bag and flowers for the students and their parents.  The last two years I have been on the Senior Committee – last year because I had a senior and this year I represent the “sophomore” group – our committee has a parent from each grade level and they wanted me back because they loved the senior gifts we did last year.  The main gift will be presented in May at the banquet so I’ll tell you more about that in May next year.  For now I wanted to show you the goodie bags that I made.

The band half-time show this year is called Tribal Elements – it is a show with a Native American theme – the props include a large totem pole and teepees.  So I wanted the goodie bags to go along with their show theme.

I used brown lunch sacks and wheeled them wit the music wheel in black ink covering about half the bag.  Then I cut Confetti Cream card stock with the Perfect Pennants die.  I used the large pennant to create a teepee.  Before attaching it to the bag I spritzed it with the Log Cabin Smooch Spritz.  I added a smaller pennant in Chocolate for the door.  There is also a small pennant on the tag that reads “class of 2012”.  I stamped the words “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams” from the Word Play stamp set on the bag.  One of the other moms found dream catchers that were perfect and we tied those to the bags with Hemp twine.

I thought they really turned out nice and the committee was very pleased.  I hope the students liked them too – I wasn’t able to be there when they were presented.

Card Maker’s Club is today so I’m busy with that.  I hope you have a nice day.
