Every year on the weekend closest to the 4th of July we head to the southern part of Georgia for a family reunion for Greg’s family. We go to his uncle’s house to the pasture and pond that are behind it and we spend the day with family. I remember the first time I went (a really long time ago) before we were married and everyone was teasing us that “it must be serious” because you don’t bring a girl friend (or boy friend) to the family reunion unless it is “serious”. Well it was and we are still going. I know we missed one year – when I was pregnant with Ryan and due on July 5th (he didn’t actually come until the 14th). Anyway we went this past weekend to the family reunion and while I’m not going to share pictures about this year’s family reunion today I am going to share some My Digital Studio scrapbook pages that have pictures from past family reunions.
These pages were created by my sister-in-law, Stephanie. She is working on a book – the “Cousins” book. Featuring all the cousins of our generation and her mom’s and some pictures going back of their grandparents and great grandparents. When we were together in North Carolina in June we worked on editing the pages in the book and filling in with pictures and journaling. So I wanted to share some of those pages on my blog.
We have basically the same menu each year – featuring fried catfish with hushpuppies, french fries, cole slaw and pickles. There are lots of yummy desserts and farm fresh corn and watermelon.
The kids like to go for boat rides on the pond and go fishing. The cows come by for a visit and get to eat the corn husks and watermelon rinds. Occasionally they take a lick of our cars! One year one of the cows gave birth and I have some pictures of the new baby (but they aren’t included here).
There is always a game of kickball and a trip to the local dollar store. Lots of fun for everyone as we visit with family we might only see this one time each year.
Everyone is growing older – the duties are shifting from one generation to another. Many of our children are driving or learning to drive and there aren’t any babies or toddlers right now.
As for a little bit of information about the My Digital Studio pages – you might notice all the pictures are round. Did you wonder how you would do that? In My Digital Studio add a Photo Box and then click on Photo Shape – if your box is square it creates a circle and if it is rectangular you get an oval. Then drag and drop your photo into the photo shape. Use the Crop button to adjust the photo within the shape.
I hope you had a great 4th of July! Thanks for stopping by today.
very cute Monika! Love how you successfully managed to get soooo many pictures on each page!
