Today we are driving to Hilton Head for the Stampin’ Up! Getaway Trip! I’m so excited to be going and can’t wait to see what little surprises Stampin’ Up! has for us there. Thank you to everyone that helped me earn this trip.
It’s time for a new challenge at Create with Connie & Mary. This week we have a color challenge – and let’s just say when I pulled up the colors – I was less than thrilled – Pink Pirouette, Cherry Cobbler and Baja Breeze.
Now I LOVE Baja Breeze and lately I’ve been using lots of Cherry Cobbler – but the pink I guess is throwing me off. What in the world was I going to do with these colors…. I can’t wait to look at all the other design team creations because I need help with this one. But I muscled through and came up with a creation for you.
It’s really a simple card. Just not much to it. Cherry Cobbler base. Baja Breeze layer – embossed with the strip of hearts and stamped with the sentiment from Blooming with Kindness. I unraveled some of the Cherry Cobbler Sweater Trim to use for the “ribbon” on my card and also used a bit through one of the crystal baubles. I punched several layers of the Pink Pirouette with the 1-1/4″ Scallop Circle punch and one layer with the larger Scallop Circle punch. I crumpled them all up and layered them together – I used a mini brad to hold the layers together. Then spritzed the whole flower with the Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker. To finish the flower I added the crystal button with the Cherry Cobbler unraveled sweater trim pulled through.
Stampin’ Up! Supplies:
- Stamps: Blooming with Kindness

My guest designer project was posted earlier this week – it’s a fun card set but you have to join the class to see it and all the other great projects. I love the simplicity of your card! The sentiment fits perfectly with the look of it, too! Have fun at Hilton Head!!
Hilton Head was fun!
A fun card using the fibers and that dimensional flower. Love the “second” use for the sweater trim! Great working with you on Create!
I’ve been using the sweater trim more unraveled than the way it comes!
The flower “pops” from the card! Love the sweater trim idea! I will be looking for you here @ Hilton Head – isn’t it just gorgeous?!
I never did find you in Hilton Head – of if I did – I didn’t realize it! I couldn’t always tell who was and wasn’t with SU. Sometimes I would ask and would get a funny look and then I’d say sorry never mind.
How fun to unravel the sweater trim for your bow! Love the 3D flower. Great job, Monika!
Thanks Connie!
Well, I don’t think the pink had you stymied too much because this flower is adorable! I love the crumpled texture and that you tied it with the sweater trim. So cute!
Thanks Jen. This is not on my list of colors to use again…
