Heart #2 – Hugs & Kisses

Heart #2 is a cute little Hugs & Kisses treat.  The perfect sweet treat to give to everyone you see on Valentine’s Day.

hugs-kisses-holder

We made one of these in my Hearts A Flutter class too.  It was a cute little idea that came from  Melissa Davies – she was in a swap with me at Leadership.  Melissa wrote a nice tutorial on how to create this little project – you can find it by visiting her blog – click here.

  • I used the love from Tiny Tags on mine and punched it with the Jewelry Tag punch
  • I added a little knot of 1/8″ Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon
  • the rest follows Melissa’s tutorial

Sending Hugs & Kisses your way!  Enjoy!

14 Hearts for Valentine’s Day

Now begins the countdown to Valentine’s day.  Are you getting ready?  Have you made your cards?  Your sweet little treat or little surprises for your loved ones?  Well never fear I’m going to be sharing ideas with you over the next  2 weeks.  I’m going to do my best to share 14 different ideas for Valentine’s Day – that’s 14 heart related projects for you.  Now there may not be one each and every day (I don’t always post on the weekends)  – and I will have some other things mixed in between – so some days you’ll see more than one post! I do hope you feel the LOVE!

Hearts A Flutter Hands On Class

Hearts A Flutter Hands On Class

Heart #1 – is a project from my  Hearts A Flutter Hands On class that I had in January.  The photo above shows you all the projects.  And the card on the right was one I previously shared with you.  Today I’ll share the card on the left.

more-amore-valentineThis card features the More Amore Specialty Designer Series paper and the Hearts A Flutter Bundle.  It’s inspired by a little scrapbook project that I received in a swap and was created by Glenda Travelstead. I enjoyed meeting her at Leadership this year and she even walked with us late one night as we returned to our hotel telling us all about how she got started in her Stampin’ Up! business.  It is always fun to meet other demonstrators and hear their stories and inspiration.

Here are some details on this card –

  • Crumb Cake card base stamped with the En Francais stamp set in Crumb Cake ink
  • Add a strip of the More Amore Specialty Designer Series paper to the left side of the card front
  • Cut apart one of the hearts from the More Amore Specialty Designer Series paper laser cut sheet  attach to the front of the card
  • Stamp the flag in Pool Party ink on Pool Party card stock and cut out with the die using the Big Shot- both from Hearts a Flutter bundle
  • Stamp the scallop tag in Primrose Petals ink on Primrose Petals card stock and cut out with the die – Hearts a Flutter again
  • Cut a tag from the designer paper using the tag die from the Hearts a Flutter framelits
  • Stamp your word – my card shows Happiness from the Loving Thoughts stamp set, but we also used Amour from Artistic Etchings – use Real Red ink and punch out with the Modern Label punch
  • punch holes in each of those with the 1/16″ circle punch and string on a piece of Pool Party Baker’s Twine – tie the Baker’s Twine around the front of the card and finish with a bow.

The More Amore Specialty Designer Paper and the Hearts A Flutter Bundle (the stamp set and framelits) are both available in the Stampin’ Up! Spring Catalog.  You can order all the supplies for this project through my website – www.monika.stampinup.net.

So that is your first heart project.  There are more to come!

Create with Hearts A Flutter

It’s a new challenge from Create with Connie & Mary . I used the cute Hearts A Flutter stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! Spring catalog.  We are back to colors for this weeks challenge – Raspberry Ripple, Pretty in Pink and Lucky Limeade.

2012 Create Thursday-016

I was working on cards and projects using the Hearts a Flutter stamp set for my class last week and decided to get two things done at one time – create a card for my class and for the color challenge!  In the end I used the exact same card but in slightly different colors for the class – I’ll show you both but first here is my challenge card.

ccmc236-monika

This card idea is from a swap I received at leadership from Kathy.  I thought it was just the cutest card but I changed the colors and a couple of other things – otherwise it is the same.  Here are some details on this card and then I’ll show you the other version (actually two).

  • card base is Naturals White card stock, folded in half and then cut with the Scallop Square die and the Big Shot Die-cut machine – you line up the fold inside the first row of scallops so it doesn’t get cut.
  • Who knew that the Hearts strip Embossing Folder matched up so perfectly with the scallop square – well it does – line up the hearts so there is one in each scallop on the front of the card – then run that through the Big Shot to emboss the front of the card.
  • Stamp the hearts – one in each color and then the outlines are all in Lucky Limeade
  • Tied some Raspberry Ripple ribbon around the card.
  • Stamp the Love You on the scrap from where you die cut the card and punch with the Word Window punch
  • Attach to the front of the card and add a couple of little pearls.
  • Ta-da!

It was quick and easy and I really love how the embossed hearts line up with the scallop square – just genius!  I did play around with the combination of colors – so here is a slightly different version of the same card.

ccmc236-monika-2

And the one I used in class was just Raspberry Ripple and included Pool Party and outlined in Basic Gray – that was what most of my other projects had so this color combo matched better.

The original swap card that I got was done with a Very Vanilla card base, Primrose Petal ribbon and the hearts were stamped with Primrose Petals and Pool Party.

Visit the Create with Connie & Mary site to see the creations from the rest of the design team and to submit your own creation for this new challenge.  It is COLD here!  And now they are saying ice again – yuck!  With Ryan just driving himself to school this month – I don’t want any ice at all on the road!  We shall see what the weather brings us.

Stampin’ Up! Supplies:

  • Ink: Raspberry Ripple, Lucky Limeade, Pretty in Pink
  • Card Stock: Naturals White
  • Accessories: Big Shot die-cut Machine, Scallop Square Bigz Clear die, Adorning Accents Embossing Folders, Word Window punch, Raspberry Ripple ribbon, Basic Pearls.

Feel the Love – Valentine’s Treat Pouch

valentines-club-projectLook at this sweet Valentine Treat & Envelope pouch that we made at my Stamper’s Club meeting last week.    It really turned out cute!

I used the Valentine Treat Bundle (on special through Jan. 21st) and the Sealed with Love Simply Sent kit (get it free through Jan. 21st).   Plus I used the Sycamore Street Ribbon & Button bundle which you’ll be able to get free during Sale-A-Bration (that starts on Jan. 22nd).

So get the Valentine part now and then the Sale-A-Bration part later and you’ll be all set to make Valentine treats for everyone around!  Yeah!

Oh – if you want to learn more about the Stamper’s Club let me know – I’m adding new members beginning in February.  There’s a bit more information HERE.

Valentine-skinny-bagThe little skinny bag treat that is tucked inside the envelope looks like this.  It is basically the Valentine Treat Bundle – which includes the Happy Valentine’s Day single stamp and a package of 50 of the cello bags.  To dress it up a bit we

  • layered it on a scallop heart that is from the Hearts a Flutter bundle
  • added some Pool Party ribbon – that’s from the Sycamore Street Sale-A-Bration bundle
  • added a tiny Pool Party heart punched with the Owl Punch
  • filled it with M&Ms – yum!  (I had to snitch them from the Valentine aisle at the store – it was still roped off because they weren’t done setting it up yet – don’t tell)

valentine-bundlesHere is a closer look at the envelope pouch – it is basically the Sealed with Love Simply Sent kit with the envelope and the sweet little note tucked inside.  We folded it into a pouch rather than an envelope and dressed up the front just a bit –

  • stamped the heart from the Valentine Treat Bundle – punched out with the Full Heart punch
  • layered that on the scalloped heart from the Hearts a Flutter bundle
  • added a Pool Party button from the Sycamore Street Sale-A-Bration bundle – that’s tied with the Baker’s twine from the kit
  • added the tiny Pool Party heart punched with the Owl punch
  • write a sweet note, tuck it inside, add the cello bag filled with candy and you have a sweet treat to share with someone you LOVE!

You can get the Sealed with Love Simply Sent kit for free with the My Little Valentine stamp set – I would have used that too but didn’t have it.  Spread the love.  Get all the details – CLICK HERE and then if you are ready to order just visit my online store by clicking the SHOP NOW button on my website.
