I needed a card swap for my demonstrator meeting Saturday night so I decided to use the colors for this challenge for that and get two things done at once. I already had planned on using the new On the Grow stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! Summer Mini Catalog. I didn’t buy this set at first but I did think it was cute. But then I saw other demos using it and you know we are such bad influences on each other – it became a “have to have” set and I put it on my next order.
To create the focal point I did a little trick that you can do with the Clear Stamps – I mounted both the scooter and the words on one clear block and stamped them at the same time. Here is what it looks like –
I really need to mount them on a larger block but this one worked and was within arms reach when I was making this card. To create the card I stamped the images in VersaMark ink and then embossed with Black Embossing Powder. Next I water colored the image using my Aqua painter and classic inks – except for the black tires I used a Water Color Wonder Crayon for it.
The card base is Garden Green stamped with the grass from Inspired by Nature. I added the little More Mustard Butterflies cut with the Big Shot and the Beautiful Wings Embosslit. Behind the focal image I tied some Very Vanilla ribbon – I used Seam Binding on some of the cards and then ran out and switched to the Taffeta ribbon – both looked good.
In this picture I have the added flower from the new Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch with a pearl in the center. I didn’t actually have this on my meeting swaps only because I ran out of time. I was still cutting and gluing on butterflies as everyone was walking in the door.
So there you have it – my color challenge card for the week. Take a minute to visit the UDI site and play along with us this week.

It’s time for a new color challenge – are you ready?
This weekly color challenge helps me keep track of what day of the week it is. I know it’s Monday when I have to write my post for the Utah Diva’s Color Challenge so it can post early Tuesday morning. This week we have a bright summery color combination – Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Concord Crush and Whisper White. Here is the inspiration piece that we have this week from Gretchen:

This week I went simple – very simple – based on a design I saw in a magazine –

This card is basically Stamps, Ink and Paper – so it comes together very quickly. The base is Daffodil Delight. Then the Whisper White panel is just corner rounded and stamped with two images from the new Love & Care Hostess stamp set in the Stampin’ Up! Summer Mini catalog. I used Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight and Concord Crush to stamp the flowers, some are stamped multiple times between reinking which gives the variations in shading. I added one of the sayings in the Word Play stamp set – this one is on sale this month! At 30% off this is a set you need to make sure to buy this month. By chance the one little flower ended up in the middle of the big G so I added a tiny Rhinestone to the center of it.
Here is a quick peek of the inside – where I stamped flowers in the corner…..

Hello Tuesday! The Utah Diva’s Color Challenge is here again. This week we have a pretty color combination – Perfect Plum, Old Olive, Marina Mist and Basic Black. I also added Whisper White as my neutral. Here it the inspiration piece that we have this week:

This week I have a beautiful card for you – at least I thought it turned out that way.

How do you like it? It really turned out pretty. I started with a card base in Perfect Plum and it is stamped with the Sanded Background stamp in Perfect Plum. I actually tried several different things – including adding an embossed layer and a textured layer and none of them were working for me – when I finally settled on just stamping it was perfect. I pulled out the Big Shot – not sure what I did when we didn’t have it in our product line – this is the Scallop Oval Frame die. I cut one in Basic Black and one in Whisper White. The white center oval was stamped with the large flower image from the Just Believe stamp set in Old Olive. Then I sponged the bottom with Old Olive. Next I sponged Marina Mist around the rest of the oval to make it look like the sky.
I cut the white scallop frame into two pieces and attached each piece to the back of the black scallop frame so it just peeks out and creates a small frame. Add some doodles with the white gel pen around the frame. I tied a piece of Marina Mist Taffeta ribbon around the frame and placed the frame on the card from with Stampin’ Dimensionals so it was raised. Then I put the stamped oval inside and glued it flat to the front of the card – I did this so it had the illusion of being inside an actual frame like a picture on the wall would be.
To finish I added some butterflies cut with the Beautiful Wings Embosslit cut from Perfect Plum card stock. And the little pearls. I really love using the basic pearls – and the easiest way to pick them up and place them is to use the tip of the paper piercer. It works like a charm. I hope you like this card today!

I have another 3-D project this week. This time it is a box that I cut using the Big Shot. I love my Big Shot and how quick you can make fun and cute projects. Oh and it’s a sneak peek for you too!
Look at this cute little stamp! It will be in the new Summer Mini Catalog that starts on May 1st. It is one of the new a-la-carte stamps that Stampin’ Up! has been coming out with for about the last year or so. The box is the Box #2 XL Bigz Die and for this project I have the top closed – sometimes I like to keep the lid open. The box is cut from Always Artichoke Textured card stock. The rest of the colors for this weeks color challenge are Poppy Parade, Real Red, Regal Rose and the Whisper White. I used Stampin’ Write markers to color the stamp – the flowers are Poppy Parade, Real Red and Regal Rose, with Always Artichoke stems, leaves and the scallop border at the bottom which is part of the stamp. I stamped on Whisper White and added a little scallop punched Real Red piece and some Real Red Taffeta ribbon. I wanted to say “hello friend” so I also used my marker to color just the ‘friend’ portion of the ‘friends’ stamp from Tiny Tags stamp set. Punch that with the Jewelry Tag punch and then I ran the Always Artichoke marker around the edge of the tag. I added it to my stamped piece with a little Real Red brad. It’s a fun little box to tuck a little treat for a special friend – don’t you think?

Tuesday is here again – it just seems to come around so quickly – where does the week go?
This week’s Utah Diva’s Color Challenge was pretty easy for me – it just so happened that I was already working on something that pretty much used these same colors. Daffodil Delight, Basic Black and Whisper White – all I had to do was add the Basic Gray.
Click on this link to go to the Utah Diva’s Color Challenge blog. There you can see the creations from the entire design team and add a link to your creation if you decide to play along.
So what was I working on with these colors – my March Ribbon share boxes. I happen to have in my big stash of stuff a bunch of little take out boxes that were Daffodil Delight. I bought these a couple of years ago at a store in the $1 bin. And never did use them. I was trying to think of a good way to present my ribbon share this month – I like to do something creative – it goes with the territory….. and I thought about these little boxes. So that is what I used.
Inside each box is all the ribbon for the ribbon share. Then when I saw the color challenge for this week I thought I just need to add the Basic Gray to this project and it will be perfect. Here is my updated project for the Color Challenge today.
I stamped the flower from Fifth Avenue Floral on a piece of Watercolor paper and used my Aquapainter and the Daffodil Delight ink to watercolor the flower. Then I cut it out.
It is layered with a dimensional on top of a scallop circle punched out of Basic Black card stock. Then underneath that is a larger scallop circle out of Basic Gray. This one is actually the scallop end of the tag on the Two Tags die cut using the Big Shot. What you do is cut the tag out, then put the tag back on the die in the opposite direction matching the cut scallop end up with the scallop on the die to cut the other side. This cuts out the other half which then layers perfectly with our original Scallop Circle punch. Finally I added pearls to the center of the flower and then put it on the front of the box.
On the top of the box is an oval punch that says “for you”. And I tied the top of the box with Taffeta Ribbon – in Basic Black, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White.
So you have two different versions of the take out boxes. The one with the ribbon share uses the Four Frames stamp set for the label on the front.

Happy Tuesday Morning everyone!
Are you ready for this weeks Utah Diva’s Color Challenge? I actually had mine done early this week (and believe it or not I already have the next one done too – he he!) . Here is the inspiration picture for Color Challenge #31 –

Basic Black, Night of Navy, Bashful Blue, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White – what I thought of was using the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set and doing a One Sheet Wonder. The idea has been around for years and about once a year or so I remember the concept and use it for something. Well that time has arrived. If you have never heard of the One Sheet Wonder concept it is basically where you take one piece of paper – in this case it will be one piece of stamped card stock – cut it into multiple pieces to make multiple cards or projects. I used one sheet of 8-1/2″ x 11″ Whisper White card stock and stamped the three flower images from Fifth Avenue Floral – one in Night of Navy, one in Bashful Blue and one in Daffodil Delight. These were stamped randomly all over my one piece of card stock.
I do have to tell you that I spent a long time looking for this stamp set in my craft room once I decided that I wanted to use it for this project. I searched through all my stamp sets three times and was just about to send out an email to my downline thinking perhaps I had let someone borrow it and it never made it back to me. Well I found it – guess where it was – on my craft table – why because I had just used it on another project the day before – I think I’m losing my mind…..
So back to the project. I took this one piece of card stock and to make it easy – cut it in half, then in half, then in half, then in half – ending up with 16 pieces that were 2-3/4″ x 2-1/8″ big. And do you wonder what I did with all those little pieces? Well here you go…..
They became Thank You tags for my club orders that I am packing up this week. I took each piece cut from the one sheet wonder and matted it with a piece of Night of Navy card stock. Then I made some with Daffodil Delight and others with Bashful Blue backgrounds, borders and butterflies. I added the black on the “thank you” that is stamped on the wing, on the black crochet thread wrapped around the butterflies and for my hangers. I hope you like them!
