Triangle Valentine Box

Here is another Valentine Treat Box – it is a triangle shaped box and actually very easy to make and the best part is you don’t need any adhesive to keep the box shut – the ribbon holds it shut!  I used the Love You Much Bundle for this project too.  Today is the last day to order the bundle at 20% off.   You can still order all the pieces – the Love You Much stamp set, Candy Lane Designer Series Paper and the Heart to Heart punch – they will just be regular price.

Ok – onto the project – the box idea is from a demonstrator named Irene that lives in Germany.  My parents are from Germany so I grew up with them speaking German to me.  I would not say that I can really speak German – I did take classes in college and I can muddle through, I can even read some and understand – but it is one of those things where you really need to do it all the time – and well I don’t.  But I was able to watch the video that was in German and understand what she was saying – I just had to convert all the measurements to inches – since that is what we are used to.  What I ended up with looks like the box she created whether or not the measurements are exactly the same as hers – I’m not really sure – but mine works.  So here is what I did.  Cut a piece of card stock in half long ways – so it is 4-1/4″ by 11″.  Then score it in half all the way across at the 5-1/2″ mark on the long side.  On each short side mark the center – this is 2-1/8″.  Now this is the only tricky part – you have to line up the score marks on a diagonal on your paper cutter so that you can score from the 2-1/8″ mark to the 5-1/2″ spot – you do this on all four sides – which basically forms a diamond shaped.  Fold on all the scores lines so that you make a triangle box.  Punch holes through both layers at the top to feed your ribbon through.   Once you get it – it really is easy.  Here is the finished picture:

Valentine Projects

I’m going to try to post some Valentine projects for the next few days.

This is the swap I made for our STARZ group meeting at the Stampin’ Up! Leadership Conference in Orlando.  This card uses the Love You Much Bundle that is on special through the end of January.  The Bundle includes the Love You Much stamp set, Candy Lane Designer Series Paper and the Heart to Heart punch.

This card was made using a piece of Riding Hood Red card stock as the base – the front was cut short and a piece of the Candy Lane Designer Series Paper was attached to the bottom of the inside panel.  The front of the card was stamped with the three hearts stamp using Riding Hood Red ink and then accented with a White Gel Pen.  I used the Scallop Circle punch to punch half of a circle out of the front flap of the card.  Then stamp the scallop circle image on Riding Hood Red,  Pretty in Pink and Very Vanilla card stock using Riding Hood Red Ink.  Punch a full scallop circle from Pretty in Pink card stock and punch only the center circle using the 1-3/8″ circle punch from the Very Vanilla card stock and glue to the Pretty in Pink piece.  Cut the center heart from the Riding Hood Red piece and glue to the Very Vanilla  piece.  Close the card front and then place the scallop circle so it fits in the opening .  This card layout was shared by another demonstrator in the STARZ group – Michelle Scileppi. – several months ago and I have been looking for just the right set for me to do a similar card – and this was it.  Thanks for the idea Michelle.
