The highly popular Butterfly Thinlits Dies will be here soon! Here is the latest update from Stampin’ Up!:
Butterflies Thinlits Update
We have received notice from our supplier that the container with the Butterflies Thinlits Dies was finally unloaded from the ship; however, there is a shortage of trucks, which has delayed the container being picked up. We have secured a truck to pick up the container, and, as of now, it is scheduled to be delivered to Stampin’ Up! on Friday. We will post an update as soon as they are available.
Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we continue to await their arrival!
So once they turn them back on (Friday it sounds like but I’ll update you for sure on my FB Business page – so make sure you Like my page and select get notifications so you will know) there is going to be a special! Here are the details on that:
We realize you may be disappointed you were not able to purchase the Thinlits in time to receive Sale-A-Bration rewards–especially in the discounted bundles. Therefore, from the day Butterflies Thinlits are again available through April 30, we are bringing you two special offers:
- Get the Butterflies Thinlits at a 15 percent discount–just $21.20!
- Buy any of the Butterflies Thinlits Bundles at the already-discounted price and choose one of three FREE Sale-A-Bration items (only available while supplies last)!
I hope one of those offers appeals to you!
Now back to my card that I created using the Butterfly Basics stamp set and the thinlits.
I used Pear Pizzazz and Blackberry Bliss for this card and created a collage like effect in the background. And I just realized the pearl fell off of the butterfly before I took this photo! well if you look closely you can still see the glue dot where the pearl is supposed to be – darn.

Apr 9, 2015 | Birthday, Occasions Catalog 2015 |
Have you noticed that there are two hostess sets in the back of the Occasions Catalog? I made this card using the Because You Care stamp set. I got the idea off of pinterest.
It’s a sweet birthday card layered with some flowers. I added the splatter from Gorgeous Grunge. If you don’t have that set it’s often the perfect thing to add when you get done with a card and it just seems to need something.
Colors are Smoky Slate, Lost Lagoon, Basic Gray and Very Vanilla. I used a Deco Labels framelit die and a circle punch plus the little flower from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.
I hope you like it.
Be sure to order this week through Friday night to get FREE SHIPPING on you order – visit my website – www.monika.stampinup.net and click SHOP NOW.

Apr 3, 2015 | Occasions Catalog 2015 |
I’m not sure I shared this cute trio of note cards featuring the Little Critters stamp set. I think these animals are so cute and you can add a variety of words to their little signs.
I wanted to use my cotton twine from the Occasions catalog so I matched up each animal with one of the colors – Wild Wasabi, Soft Sky, and the Whisper White. And I also featured the Irresistibly yours paper from Sale-A-Bration – Stampin’ Up! has had some paper like this in the past so maybe there will be more in our future. Each card showed a different technique on the paper.
- The soft sky is sponged with a Stampin’ Sponge.
- The Wild Wasabi is spritzed with a Stampin’ Spritzer – filled with ink refill mixed with rubbing alcohol.
- The Daffodil Delight/White is actually stamped with Gorgeous Grunge and then wiped off with a tissue – so you get varying degrees of ink across the design. Here is a closer look at that one.
It has a neat effect.
Each animal is stamped with Black StazOn and watercolored with an Aquapainter. The signs have different words and Stampin’ Up! has many stamp sets with words that would fit in here.
Thanks for stopping by today!
Oh – I just got word that next week April 6-10 will be free shipping on all Stampin’ Up! orders so place your orders next week – with me or in my online store.

Mar 10, 2015 | class, Occasions Catalog 2015 |
What are your thoughts on the kits in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog?
Well my favorite one is the Hello Life Decor Kit! That’s the first one I bought and I am going to have a class on March 22nd for anyone that wants to get together to make theirs. Here are some photos of mine –
I even had some black & white photos of my three boys that I could use! I love how it turned out and I plan to hang it in my new stamping classroom when it is finished – the colors in that room will be Gray, Yellow, White. – Yellow on the walls, white furniture and probably will do gray tiles on the floor. Final decisions haven’t been made yet but that is what I’m thinking right now.
Kyle (my oldest – photo on the left) recently took a business trip to Brazil & Argentina. He is back at his home now in San Francisco. I was able to talk to him last night. Maybe I’m the only one but as a mom I was nervous for his traveling out of the country – it was his first time to leave the US. Ryan (my youngest – photo in the center) is away at college in Indiana. I got to talk to him yesterday too. He will be traveling soon to visit Kyle for his spring break and then stop here at home in Georgia before heading back to finish the semester. Tyler (the middle – photo on the right) is here at home so I get to talk/see him just about every day. He is finishing college and working right now at his first internship job. I was a happy mom last night after talking to all three of them on the same day!
Here is a look at the Pom-pom and heart banner that is on the frame. I figured out the trick with the pom-poms – they take some time but I actually am very happy with the final result. I used a fine tooth comb – to carefully comb out all the strands of yarn.
The panel that says LOVE THIS LIFE can be changed to say what you want. The kit comes with a set of adhesive letters so its’ your choice on what you want to put on there. The kit also has extra’s of most of the pieces in the kit – you can add more to your frame or use the left overs for a scrapbook layout or cards.
Join me on Sunday, March 22nd for a class to create this Home Decor Kit. This is a pre-paid class – RSVP and payment due by March 12th so I can order all the supplies for you. Grab a friend and sign up today! Class Fee is $32.
If you are a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator or you have already purchased the kit you can join us too – the reduced class fee is $7 (pay at the class) – you will have to bring your kit with you to the class.
RSVP for the class here – after I receive your RSVP I will send you a Paypal invoice.
Plan to bring Fast Fuse or Multipurpose Glue adhesive, your paper snips, and a bone folder. You can also bring some photos or add those later at home.
If you have questions let me know.

Mar 2, 2015 | Occasions Catalog 2015, Tutorial |
Have I told you that Sheltering Tree is my favorite stamp set in the Occasions Catalog? Yes it is. What about you – do you have a favorite set? There are many that I like and many that I bought but if I had to pick just one that would be it. At leadership I participated in several swaps including 2 card swaps and this was the card I made for one of them.
And if you asked me what my new favorite accessory was from the Occasions Catalog it would probably be the Cotton Twine – it is so soft! I just want to touch it and hold it! I used the Soft Sky Twine on this card.
I call it a window card because I cut an Oval window out of the front layer of the card and the tree is stamped on a Whisper White layer that peeks through underneath. I used Early Espresso, Soft Sky and Crumb Cake.
I do have just a little secret to tell about this card – I made about 25 or so of them and about the time I got to the very last one and finished stamping the Crumb Cake ground piece on each one – that was when I realized I mounted my stamp backwards on my block! Oops – no wonder my image wasn’t looking the same as the one in the catalog I was using the back of the stamp! But I decided to leave them like they were since I was finished stamping. But it made me think if I had a reason to have a “shadow” of the image I just stamped behind it – I could just turn over and stamp the back of the stamp in a really light shade of ink over the correct image. What do you think? An idea to try out maybe.
I stepped up this card by adding the piercing around the oval and then the two little butterflies cut from Dazzling Details Glimmer paper. I hope you love this card as much as I do.
If you are interested I have the Stamps In the Mail class featuring this stamp set and a Desktop Calendar Tutorial available and if you have the stamp set and want to order just the tutorial you can do that too – visit my Tutorials page – there is a link at the top of my blog.
Thanks for stopping by – have a great day!

Feb 18, 2015 | Big Shot, Occasions Catalog 2015 |
I thought I would share another berry basket that I made recently. I made these as roommate gifts for the Leadership Conference at the end of January. Since we were in Orlando Florida I decided to give each of my roommates a “basket of sunshine”.
I made the berry basket with Daffodil Delight card stock. To decorate the side I cut the “hello” framelit out of Pool Party card stock and then added a Modern Label punch that I stamped with Sunshine. Plus a Daffodil Delight button and Whisper White Baker’s Twine.
I filled the basket with a Gussested Cello bag that had lots of yellow things inside. Including Lemon Heads – I thought I had a picture of those but I don’t – I should still have mine and will take a picture of those with the little tags. I made a bunch of those and gave them to my friends as I saw them throughout the conference.
Thanks for stopping by – hope you have sunshine where you are – today we have had on and off snow flurries and it is cold here (at least for us it is cold). The cold and the ice are causing lots of trouble around here. Yesterday my parents and my brother were unable to leave the street where they live because a tree came down on top of power lines blocking the road. At least they still had power – many other people didn’t.
