I adore you

A quick little note card made with the stamps from the January 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit.

pp-adore-you

I added some supplies to create this little note card:

  • Whisper White Note cards & Envelopes
  • Whisper White card stock – a front layer and the heart
  • Stitched Shapes Framelit Dies – to cut the circle
  • Gold Thread – or use what is left from your kit
  • Metallic Enamel Shapes – for the little gold heart

Use the stamps and ink from your kit.  And you can also use dimensionals and glue dots from the kit – I had left overs.

I finished up my little treat boxes from the Paper Pumpkin kit and mailed them out to my boys today.

pp_main_jan2517

I did a tiny bit of altering – on the top flap of the box that gets folded over I trimmed away the back and sides so that it was just a top flap that folded over the arrow.  I also put a piece of Tear and Tape on that flap to secure it down and then put the little gold heart sticker on the back. On one box I moved the arrow to the front and put it under my heart – that was for mailing purposes – when i was trying to get it in the little padded envelope I was using the arrow came poking out of it on the side when it was placed under the flap.  It actually was cute under the heart going across the front too.

If you want the kit for February be sure to have an active account by tomorrow – Feb. 10th.  That is the cut off date.  And during Sale-A-Bration (now through March 31) you can purchase a 3-month prepaid subscription for $55 (+ tax) and get a free Sale-A-Bration item too.  The normal price is $59 – so you save a little bit.  And this deal works for both new and current subscribers. Fun Color Combo

A week or so ago I was unpacking an order that I had received from Stampin’ Up! I had ordered several packs of Card Stock that I was running low on.  I pulled them all out and stacked them up and carried them to my craft room.  As I was walking I fanned them out and thought – hmm that looks like a nice color combo.  I posted a quick photo on Facebook to see what others thought and it received a bunch of likes. The colors were:

  • Real Red
  • So Saffron
  • Pool Party
  • Whisper White

After that I thought I better create an idea with that color combo so I made this for my Card Class last week.  Yet again – quick and simple and I love it.

Here are the supplies that I used:

  • Thick Whisper White card stock for the card base
  • Strips of Real Red, So Saffron, and Pool Party card stock and I stamped each one with stars from the Perpetual Birthday Calendar stamp set
  • Whisper White Baker’s Twine
  • Piece of Whisper White card stock stamped with Stylized Birthday stamp
  • Enamel Shapes – Brights & Subtles collections

So what do you think – do you like the color combo?

Love is in the Air

Last Friday was my monthly Card Maker’s Class.  I try to offer a variety of card choices at this class each month so that everyone can make the cards that the need coming up.  Well as we all know February is coming and that means Valentine’s day is coming.  I am not offering a class specific to Valentine’s day this year so I’ve been trying to sprinkle in some loved themed cards here and there and especially in my card class.

I find that I tend to come up with cards I really like at the very last minute before I need them.  Maybe when I have more time I keep changing and adding and over thinking it and when I’m pressed for time it’s just done because it has to be.  Well this creation is one of those.  As I got up Friday morning for my card class and looked over my selection of cards I realized I really should have one more Valentine choice.  So I ran to my craft room and created this just before class started.

The So Very Much stamp set is one of the Sale-A-Bration items that you can choose.  It has a beautiful large script Thank You and then several choices for additional sentiments to add in a smaller font.  I created this card that would be perfect as a Thank You for that awesome gift you received over the holidays!

navy-thank-you

I used the Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper, Night of Navy and Whisper white card stock, Night of Navy ink and the Duet Banner Punch to make this simple card.  The Thank You image is large and creates the main focal point of the card.

I also decided to decorate the inside just a touch by adding a strip of the designer paper to a white panel.

Every Heart Valentine

Now that the new year has come and gone it’s time to work on Valentine’s Day – it will be here before we know.  We are almost half way through January already!  Where in the world does the time go.  I had high hopes of getting so many things done over the holidays and it really just didn’t happen.  Sigh.

At the end of December I had my monthly Card Maker’s class and created this Valentine’s card as one of the selections.

every-heart-valentine

I used a couple of new products from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog.

The Sending Love Designer Paper Stack – which is a fun 6×6 sized stack of red and while designs.  There are 8 double-sided designs in the stack.

I also used a new stamp set called Falling for You.  It’s part of the Falling in Love Suite which has products that are romantic and shabby chic.  Think marriage, wedding, love.

The heart is from the Sweet & Sassy Framelits die set.  I wonder why they gave that one a different name instead of just calling it layering hearts like they did the circles, squares, and ovals.  Even the stars are just called stars.  I want to call it layering hearts.

The Baker’s Twine is actually from the Holiday Catalog – I wish they had kept that little pack as it was perfect for Valentine’s projects this time of year.

Happy 2017!

Happy New Year!  Welcome to 2017!

This last year was not a good blogging year for me.  Sorry about that.  I’m really hoping to blog more and consistently every week.  I have lots of stamping to share with everyone – I just haven’t been able to keep up with actually editing photos and writing blog posts.  I’m crossing my fingers that I can do MUCH better in 2017!

2017-shaker-card

So Happy New Year!  This was a fun shaker card that we made at the Atlanta OnStage After Party event that I co-hosted back in November.  It was a fun evening with 50 demonstrators after the regular Stampin’ Up! Local event ended.  We had a scrumptious family style Italian dinner, demonstrations, make&takes, gifts and a special Q&A session with two of the Stampin’ Up! concept artists.  A great evening was had by all.

Here are some details on this card:

  • The front panel of the card was cut with the Large Number Framelits – I used the Thick Whisper White card stock so it would be sturdy.
  • The stamp set is It’s a Celebration from the Holiday Catalog – it’s still available through January 3rd.
  • Fireworks are stamped in Smoky Slate ink.
  • Add a piece of Window Sheet to the back of the die cut panel.  Then add the Foam adhesive strips around the entire panel and a strip above the die cut numbers.
  • The sequins are the Fancy Frost Sequins in the Holiday Catalog – available through January 3rd.
  • Stamp Happy New Year in Sweet Sugarplum ink on a strip of Whisper White – punch the end into a banner.
  • Staple a piece of Glitter Ribbon and a piece of Silver Sequin Trim to the end of the banner.

You can still take advantage of the Year-End Close out sale going on through January 3rd.  It’s the last day of the close-out sale and the last day of the Holiday catalog.  If you order on my website in the online store use the Hostess code – YUMGKRG7 when you check out.  All orders over $30 will receive a special gift from me!  I will send you 5 hand-made cards in January.
If your order is over $150 don’t use the hostess code – you can redeem Stampin’ Rewards on your order and I will still send you the cards
