It’s Thursday once again – where does the time go? This weeks challenge Create with Connie & Mary is a sketch challenge.
I struggled with this one. I started in one direction, then switched to something else and then finally ended up with this little Christmas card using the No Peeking stamp set.
I had the little animals already made from a different project I was working on and they were sitting on my table just smiling at me. I was also working on ideas for my Paper Piercing class that I have tomorrow. So I ended up combining all of these things together. This will be one of the cards we will make in my Friday class. The layout was based on the sketch and the cute little animals were just sitting their waiting for me to do something else with them. I think we are all happy now.

Sep 17, 2012 | Big Shot, Demonstrator, Halloween, Holiday catalog 2012, My Digital Studio |
Every other month I have a demonstrator meeting at my house – my PAWS team meeting. It is a ton of fun to get together with these wonderful ladies each time. At the meeting we usually start with sharing some business topics and other Stampin’ Up! news and then we have snacks, Make&Takes and we do a swap. I came to realize that after the meeting I don’t always get a chance to take pictures of everything. So this last month I decided to take pictures at the meeting and I think that will be better – and now that I’m writing this – I think next month I’ll even try to get pictures of the M&Ts with the person that created it. Hopefully this will make it easier to share the wonderful creations that everyone brings.
So I already shared my Make&Take from the meeting – that was the Core’dinations card and technique book. And today I’ll share with you Leishman’s Halloween Make&Take.

PAWS meeting – Leishman Williams Make & Take project
She really had two projects for us. One was the little cello bag filled with candy corn. The bottom of the bag is stamped with StazOn ink. The top is tied with the new black/gray satin ribbon and we added a little punched tag to the front. Leishman used My Digital Studio 2 to create the different images from the Spooky Bingo Bits stamp brush set. In MDS2 it is easy to recolor portions of the stamp images – she had a variety of images for us to choose from. I guess I should have taken a picture of that too.
Then we made a little box using the Scallop Circle die – we trimmed them and glued them to the sides of a box – and embossed with the Spider Web folder. Then use the Simply Scored and a strip of Designer Paper – these were printed on a home printer through MDS. It’s the Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP – either use the real designer paper or use the digital paper and print it at home. Create a medallion – use some hot glue on the new silicone craft sheet – it really holds the medallians well. Stamped image is from the Mixed Melody hostess stamp set and Tiny Tags for the Boo.
Two fun Halloween ideas – I hope you like them. Thank you Leishman for sharing these with us.

Sep 14, 2012 | Big Shot, Cards, Core'dinations Card stock, Holiday catalog 2012 |
It’s Friday! And here were we live it’s the last day of school before we have Fall Break. Yep they get a whole week of school next week. When you start school on Aug 1st you are ready for a break by mid September.
Today I wanted to share with you a card I made using the Core’dinations card stock that is in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog. At my PAWS downline meeting last weekend I showed everyone a bunch of different ways to use this card stock. Each person made a Core’dinations Technique book and this card that uses several of the techniques we went over.

I used the Cherry Cobbler Core’dinations card stock as the card base. On the front I scored lines and then sanded them (that’s one technique). Then I added a layer of the Early Espresso Core’dinations card stock that was cut with the Top Note die and sanded the edges (that’s another technique). I tied some Cotton Ribbon around it with Linen Thread – it is stamped with the Loving Thoughts stamp set. The final addition is a rose made out of the Cherry Cobbler Core’dinations card stock by tearing it into circle and layering them (that’s a third technique).
Here is a look at the technique book/sampler – I just fanned all the pages out for you to see.

Here is a quick list of the techniques –
12 techniques
- Sanding – just sand the card stock
- Tearing – tear toward you
- Embossing – use embossing folder
- Debossing – upside down folder and sand around the debossed image
- Distressing – distressing tool on the edge
- Scoring – score from the back and then sand
- Outlining – secure chipboard to surface, lay over and sand
- Label – use non-electric label maker, insert strip type letters, sand (or write in reverse on the back with a pencil or stylus and sand the front)
- Antiquing – crumple into a ball, flatten, sand
- Corrugating – run through crimper tool, sand
- As is – textured side
- Punching – use border punches
So on my card above I used #1, #2, and #6. So go play with it and have some fun.
Have a good weekend!

Happy Thursday! There’s a new challenge at Create with Connie & Mary this week and this time it’s a color challenge! Tangerine Tango, Lucky Limeade and Rich Razzleberry.
And for me I thought Halloween…. Look at these cute mini Halloween Treat Bags!!
Aren’t they adorable. The idea was from a crafting magazine. There were tons of little Halloween treats and I want to try to recreate more of them but here is one.
The little bags are recycled brown paper – the paper that comes in our order boxes – yep another use for that and I have tons of it lying around. I put a piece through my Big Shot with the Petite Pocket Die!
I glued the sides together and ta-da the perfect little mini treat bag. I used my ink pads by dragging them across the bags to add color – it picks up on the creases and edges.
I used the Googly Ghouls stamp set create the little ghouls for each bag and added googly eyes to each one. The bags are held shut with a decorated wooden clothes pin. I covered each side with paper and then added a button.
Just fill the bags with a little bit of candy and you have some cute little treats. What can you create with these fun colors? Play along with us this week! And for more fun crafting ideas the Holiday edition class is going on too. Connie & Mary and the rest of the team just finished a whole week of Halloween projects! And this week there are lots of fun Fall themed ideas. So join today if you want more great projects. I’m a guest designer and have a fun project planned for later this month.

Have you seen the cute Snow Festival Designer Printed Tags in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog?

Snow Festival Designer Printed Tags #128152
While they are really fun just as tags I wanted to use them on a card. So my card swap for my PAWS meeting Saturday night did just that.
I used a Crumb Cake card base and then a layer of Cherry Cobbler that I embossed with the Chevron Embossing Folder. I stamped the tags with a greeting before adding them to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. And do you see what’s tied around my card? Do you know what that is? I unraveled the Gumball Green Sweater Trim and then tied it around the card for a fun playful accent. Here are a couple of other versions –

I hope you like these fun easy cards!

Look at this cute stamp called Frightening Feline!
it’s a single stamp in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog. A cat made up of lots of Halloween words – icky, sticky, spooky, zombies, yikes, scream, eek, darkness, and on and on. The rest of the card – Basic Gray card base, First Edition Designer Series paper (sponged with some Basic Gray), Howlstooth & Scaring bone Designer Series Paper, 1/2″ Striped Satin Black/Gray Ribbon, a Pumpkin Pie button tied with some Calypso Coral Baker’s Twine, Basic Black card stock cut with the Labels Framelits, and Very Vanilla card stock stamped first with the Frightening Feline in Basic Gray and then cut with the Labels Framelits and sponged. To finish the cat add some googlies for the eyes and a little knot of Pumpkin Pie ribbon. Now that wasn’t so scary was it?
Halloween is creeping into the stores very quickly – I saw lots of themed snacks today – cookies, gummies, pop-tarts, and more. See ya later……
