If you live near Woodstock, GA and have teenagers (or pre-teens) you should come listen to J.Tom Morgan speak Thursday, Oct. 8th at 7 pm in the Etowah High School Auditorium. I heard him speak last year. If you live in Georgia you may consider getting his book – the book is written for teenagers and discusses real cases.
“Ignorance is No Defense – A Teenager’s Guide to Georgia Law”
by J.Tom Morgan
“I hope that this book will empower teenagers with knowledge about laws that affect them; enable early intervention in problem situations; and prevent problems from arising in the first place. My goal is for teenagers to lead safe, happy, and fulfilling lives – engaging their questioning minds and fun-loving spirits- without encountering the criminal justice system.”
- Mr. Morgan is a former District Attorney of DeKalb County and is a nationally recognized expert on the prosecution of crimes against children. He has dedicated his career to child advocacy and is committed to helping young people avoid being both victims and perpetrators of crimes.
- Very sensitive topics will be discussed; therefore, this is an adult only event. RESERVE YOUR SEAT TODAY!
- Please contact Leslie Metropol, metro24@comcast.net or Nancy Olson, nalolson@aol.com, E.T. Booth P.A.S.S. Coordinators, for reservations. Proceeds from the purchase of each book go to the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy, Inc., a non-profit organization that provides free treatment for youths who are victims of abuse.
- Copies of his book will be available for $10, but need to be reserved in advance. The books may be picked up and payment made the evening of the presentation. BOOKS ARE ONLY AVAILABLE AT THE P.A.S.S. MEETING with a portion of the proceeds going to the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy, Inc., a non-profit that provides free treatment for youths who are victims of abuse.
I just thought I would pass on the information.
