I don’t think I ever posted these projects from earlier this year when I played with my March Paper Pumpkin kit. It’s the one called Sew You. I took the kit with me on a retreat in the mountains in April and one evening pulled it out to play.

The kit had a some little “word bubble” elements that were hole punched for stitching the word YOU.
The stamps were various greetings to go along with it. The little black and white cards are adorable in a variety of patterns. Here are some of the things that I made. A lip balm holder – the lip balm that i use and had sitting on my table matched the epoxy accents perfectly!

some other card ideas –

Stampin’ Up! just announced that they are “retiring” some of the past kits that are available in the store. They will be gone after July 27th. Some are refills – like this one and others are full kits.
and refill kits

If you are currently an active Paper Pumpkin Subscriber you can add these to any of your orders. If not go ahead and join now and pick up any kits that you love before they are gone. I’ve used the Glittered Greetings to make Graduation cards – I love the wood words in the kits. Seriously Amazing has some great elements perfect for scrapbooking and project life.

One of my June Stamper’s Club projects was a cute little bag with coordinating note cards and envelopes.
The little bag idea is one I found online – it seems to be called a bag in a box – but I changed my measurements a bit since I wanted to put the little note cards inside. The note cards use the Cherry On Top Designer Paper Stack and the new Triple Banner Punch. I can’t tell you how much I’ve been using this punch – I think it is a must have item from the new catalog.

After the banners are attached to the note card punch a hole on each side with the 1/16″ handheld circle punch and add some Baker’s Twine. I used Bermuda Bay on one card and Crushed Curry on the other. For the envelopes I used the Cherry on Top Washi Tape and added a matching strip to the edge. The stamps are from Endless Birthday Wishes – I think that was one of very first Photopolymer Stamp sets and a favorite of mine.
Here are a couple more bags – which are made from Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush card stock as the box base, strips and handles and the In-Color Envelope Paper for the bag. The mini silver brads were used to attach the handles. And the bags have a fun bow made from the Lace Trim tied on the handle.
Here is what the set looks like all together. Fun and cheery – give as a gift to someone, or use the cards and fill the bag with candies.
Enjoy your day!

Jun 11, 2015 | Big Shot, Cards, Watercoloring |
I’ve been playing around with the new Stampin’ Up! In-colors and probably my favorite one is actually the Tip Top Taupe. But I’ve realized that it depends on my mood and at other times one of the others is my favorite. For the card I’m sharing today I used a color combo that I actually found in a magazine. It was a bedroom with a pretty comforter and when I looked at the colors I saw Tip Top Taupe, Mint Macaron, a hint of Delightful Dijon and Whisper White. So starting with that photo I ended up with this card.
To me the Tip Top Taupe looks like a darker version of Sahara Sand – and that’s actually what the background is stamped in for the card base. I wanted it lighter. Then the words are Tip Top Taupe so they would be darker.
A fun technique that I did on this card uses the Magnetic Platform and framelits. Before cutting each of the frames I traced the inside of the framelit with my Stampin’ Write Marker – the magnetic platform helps hold it in place while you trace it. Then I cut them out. You could cut first and then trace but I found it easier to trace first. And I made a whole bunch of these for a swap group that I’m part of.
For the flower I also did something kind of different and really liked how it turned out. I stamped the background in Tip Top Taupe over the flower. It “color’s” it in but not all the way giving it a textured look. The leaves are watercolored with the aqua painter and the Mint Macaron ink. Then it’s time for a bit of fussy cutting to get the beautiful flower.
The center of the flower is colored with the Delightful Dijon marker and a little bit of Linen Twine is tied around the flower stem. I attached the flower with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I did do a version without the traced frames but it adds just a little bit extra to the card.

Jun 10, 2015 | Birthday, Cards, Paper Pumpkin |
For everyone that was a Paper Pumpkin Kit Subscriber in May you received a fun Birthday Bundle Kit.
It has the supplies to make 4 gift bags and 6 birthday cards. When my Aunt and cousin were visiting from Germany this week they wanted to see how I made my cards – I didn’t have anything prepped! But I had my Paper Pumpkin kit and pulled it out really quick. I put together a birthday card and as it turned out it was my cousin’s birthday so I gave it to her. I also spent a few quick minutes assembling one of the bags. Here they are –
I grabbed some Daffodil Delight ink so I could add some balloons to the envelope and make it cute too.
Then this morning I wanted to create a different version of the card using the supplies in the kit. And this is what I came up with.
Instead of putting the big die cut balloon on the bag I decided to use it on one of the cards. I also turned my card and when I added the strip it was too long so it got trimmed off. The Happy Birthday stamp fits perfectly on the balloon so I stamped it before adding it with the Dimensionals to the front of the card. I did add some Whisper White baker’s Twine and tied that in a bow at the end of the balloon. And also the Daffodil Delight ink for the balloons that I stamped on the envelope. Just as quick and easy as the original card!
