I have more Christmas card ideas for you – are you ready?

So you don’t even need a Christmas stamp set to make a Christmas card – this was a swap card by Joyce Pandolfi (from at least a year ago – but I love this idea). She used Circle Circus and a 3/4″ circle punch and made a tree! How clever is that?

This is a little cheat sheet for creating the base of the tree. Stamp, then cut as shown, layer on a piece of Chocolate Chip and cut to create the mat.

I’m trying to decide when to post the last 5. Tomorrow I have the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge – come see – I have sneak peek items!! And I have a super cute set of tags I want to share too so you have time to make them. So I might (not for sure but might) post the last 5 of the 25 cards later today. That leaves Friday for tags and Saturday another tag idea. Ok off to do some other crafting and a bit of cleaning in the craft room too.
See ya…..

I had lunch with my brother today and then went shopping. The longest line I stood in was actually at Panera to get lunch. It was standing room only and the line was out the door. The high school kids added to the lunch time crowd. Today was exams and they got out early. I also waited in line at the Post Office but at the stores where I shopped not so much – which was good for me.

Sorry I forgot to post this earlier on Sunday so here it is now. The day just got away from me. It rained pretty much all day. Ryan had his last driving lesson with the instructor and she took him on the course where he will actually take his driving test for his license. He did it all in the pouring rain including all the parking and she said he did great on every thing. His test is Friday afternoon. Then I came home and wrapped Christmas presents – I’m almost done with everything that I already bought. Now I just have a little bit more to buy.

Two things I did on this card – I mixed the Early Espresso and Sugar & Spice Embossing powders together and then used them on the Gingerbread Men. And I used a sponge to rub Crumb Cake ink on my white baker’s twine to give it a more vanilla/vintage look to it.

Dec 13, 2012 | Big Shot, Cards, Create with Connie & Mary, Wedding |
Well today is a color challenge day at Create with Connie & Mary. And I wasn’t quite sure what I was going to do with just these two colors – Very Vanilla and Champagne Glimmer! I got out the paper and thought now what ink am I going to use!

I was a little concerned about what to do for this color challenge with no ink choices. Then I remembered that we have Champagne Shimmer Paint. And I recently purchased the Happy Hour stamp set so I thought I could use the champagne glass in that set. But doing the whole glass in the shimmer paint was really light so instead I decided to add just a little bit of one other color (Soft Suede) – it’s just a hint to outline my glasses. The champagne on the inside is the shimmer paint.

The card is Very Vanilla and then I have a strip of the Champagne glimmer paper – scallopped on one side. I added some Very Vanilla Seam Binding around the card. Then a punched circle stamped with the champagne glasses and “cheers!”. I also took the shimmer paint and sponged it around the edges of the circle. And the entire card is sprtized with a mixture of rubbing alcohol and the shimmer paint so it sparkles. here is a closer look –

I have to tell you I was really happy with how the whole card turned out! This would be a great wedding card of New Year card – what do you think? What can you create with these two colors? Have fun playing along.
